17" Wheels on a 69 Dart with Stock Suspension

There are a lot of variables to consider. Comparing your car to what others have done is helpful, but without having the identical parts and ride height, it's just a reference point. Most of the cars people are showing in the thread sit higher than the car in your avatar. If you plan on...

Opinion on some rally wheels and tires....

They look like a decent deal to me. Have you changed your car to big bolt pattern? They won't fit if you haven't. The tires are also going to be a bit wide on the front of a 71 Dart, in my opinion. Could rub, depending on front end height, too.

And don't forget that ride height and such affect the ability, too. A lower rear will let the body contact the tire more easily than a higher rear, and even if it all fits while sitting still, hitting bumps or hard cornering can cause the tires to hit. There is more to fitment than width alone.

    Need some advice on rallyes

And the stock SBP Rallyes are all 14" x 5.5". Which centers did they have? 70/71 are different than 72+. The two caps he has may not even be what you're after. I mean, they'll still bolt on and work, but won't be "correct", if you give a crap.

    Rallye Cap Restoration question Help!

You might start a new topic asking those questions. A lot of people probably skip over this one since the original question was answered so well. Damn I'm good. Just kidding. But seriously, start a new thread and you'll probably get more responses.

    Need advice quick!

Yeah, but make sure that the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5. THey look like they may be bigger. Maybe not.

    Question on 70 Dart wheels

A 70 Dart would have come with small bolt pattern wheels. It would be a good idea to measure the hubs to make sure they still are. Lots of them have been changed in 40+ years. It would be disappointing to get the wrong wheels. I've swapped several cars over myself, and I've even bought a...

    will these fit?

What's the width on the wheels? The tires are way too wide for the front, and probably the back, too.

I've never seen a small bolt pattern set of 500s.

Are these stock rims for a 76 Dart?

Those are mopar Rallye wheels. They have 72+ center caps, but appear to have the wrong trim rings.

can I do this and how

If you run 73+ spindles with an early sway bar, the lower control arm sway bar tabs keep the spindle from turning very sharply. The spindle will hit the tabs. I have done it, and needed to grind the tabs in order to increase the turning radius. If you can easily get your hand on a later...

what are 14" 5 on 4" Aluminum outlaw II worth??

They look like this. You can still buy them new. Someone will probably buy them from you, but I'm not sure what the prices are like where you live.

    LH thread wheel studs?

If you press the swedged studs out without cutting the "smashed" parts first, it will "hog out" the holes and any future studs will be loose. It may work for a while, but they will be loose, and can eventually spin in place when attempting to tighten or loosen the nuts. I've got a toasted hub...

    What wheels fit what?

You're close, but not correct. Some 2WD Dodge trucks have used 5x4.5 wheels, and many years of Dakotas and Durangos had 6 lug wheels. Didn't the 74-ish to 81-ish full time 4x4 Dodge 1/2 tons use 5x4.5" wheels, too?

Will a 275 tire fit in the front of a duster?

Wow. That's wide. Check out this thread. This guy has 255/45/17s on his. Maybe ask him if he thinks there is room for 2 more centimeters' worth of tire there. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=115174

Will a 235/55-15 fit the front of a 70 Dart Swinger

I would say that here is a good chance that it won't, but there are too many variables to know for sure. Wheel width, backspacing, brakes used and ride height all affect fitment.

    Will these fit? 71' Duster

They may actually bolt to the hub, but the offset is setup for a front wheel drive. The backspacing would be huge.

    who's Running 18 "s ?

I have 17x7 wheels on my 67. I'm not going to take the time to type up the combination that I've already done several times. The most important thing to remember is that what fits is greatly affected by the height of the car, and the width and diameter of the tire itself. What works for one...

    69 aluminium wheels (factory)

Originally Kelsey Hayes. There are a bunch of similar ones available used from Mexico. I think someone is reproducing them, but I don't know if they are making the small bolt pattern or not. http://www.specialtywheelsltd.org/chrysler-wheels.html Wow. I don't know if I could spend...

    Anyone recognize these??

Yeah, it's just what used to be a common style aftermarket wheel. Some people refer to it as a "turbine" style, since it looks like the front of a jet engine turbine. I used to have a set on my 70 swinger back in 89 or so. They were old then.

possible to convert wheel pattern to 5x5.5?

The rear wouldn't be too hard, since 4x4 Dodge trucks used that pattern with an 8.75" axle in the early 70s. You could shorten the shafts to fit an A Body axle. I might actually have a pair of those shafts stuffed in my shed somewhere. I'm not sure about backing plates and drums, but the...

im wondering if a 15x8 wheel will fit?

I put 17x7s on my 67, and moved the spings in, and there is a ton of room there. The backspace on my wheels is only 3.75", but with you moving the springs in, I doubt you'll have any issues. I guess I also shortened my axle slightly, so that means that you should even have a better chance...

Will 235/60/14 on a Scamp fit?

I used to run 225-70-14's on stock small bolt Rallyes on my 70 Swinger, and they would rub some, enough to scrape up the white letter sidewalls. This was with an 8.75" rear axle. With a 7.25" it probably would have been fine. It's hard to tell what will fit without a lot of measuring, and...

World record price for 2 old painted chrome reverse wheels?

Man, I have personally damaged the spindles on 9" drum cars before. They are weak. I won't even drive one on the street any more. I'm not afraid of the 9" drum's stopping power. I am afraid of the weakness of the spindles.
