Look at the tubes in that radiator. The one I had only had about an 1/8 inch opening. The griffin has 1.25 inch tubes. the champion just couldnt flow enough water at speed. Pull the cap and rev it and observe the flow.

I disagree because temp steadily climbs and he never mentions it dropping. Exactly what mine did. Steadily crept till it was too hot.I tried different t stats no stat and hoses even tried timing to no avail.

Try a different radiator.I had a cc375 champion and it sucked. Chased overheating on a new build for 6 months. Installed a griffin muscle car radiator and problem solved.

Radiators not a cc375 is it?

I tried a cc375 in my coronet and it would steadily creep to hot even down the road. Swapped out for a griffin and problem gone. You get what you pay for.

I tried everything I could think of with my cc375. Wouldnt keep my stroked big block cool. Had to go griffin. Champion ***** still in the garage in a box.Some people swear their great but to me just more chinese garbage.

If you are using a 160 thermostat you could try a 195.

Maybe a return from the heater. Water pump may feed the core and it returns there.

Champion is junk. Buy a Griffin muscle car series with 2 rows of 1.25 tubes and be done.Shrouds fit well too.

I,m guessing here but maybe the higher rpms runs the water thru a little faster and it doesnt have as much time to dissapate heat. I wouldnt worry about 2 needle widths.

Mines in a box in the garage. Friggin chinese junk.Save your money and buy a Griffin.They are twice the price but they are ten times the quality.

Closed end mag wheel lugnut works great. brass ball valve for 3/4 pex plumbing pipe can be added to hose for on off ease.

You get what you pay for.

It will definately help when its rainy and your windows are up. Wont hurt anything.

I fought cooling issues in my coronet for six months. I have a shroud and 7 blade clutch fan. This is a 500 inch motor. My Champion radiator sucked. It wouldnt cool it. Temp eventually creeped till I shut it down. Changed to a Griffin with 2 rows of 1.25 inch tubes and problem solved.

Wish I had a too cool problem. Does your water pump have a bypass??I, d be happy and tune it for cooler temps

I mounted studs to the radiator wall and used my factory shroud. Shroud bolt flanges hung outside the radiator. Can take a pic tonight if you need it.
