That Dorman piece is what I have used for 25 years on my 65' dart.I have it mounted in front of the core support on the left in front of the horns......

I have used a LD340 intake and used a open filter of 1969 vintage off a 383 super bee with no problems.....

I stripped mine myself.I made a trough out of pvc and end caps.After I glued the caps on,I cut it in half and soaked each piece in caustic soda for about a minute.When done rinsed them and cleaned with sos pads then polished.Still nice after 20 years with an occasional polish.

My 65' was original and had nothing......

Yes,it does fit under the hood,but sorry,I cant help with pictures as I have it in storage for the winter.Yeah,without the torque brace I think it would hit when the motor torques.I will try and find a picture and post it........

I had noticed that too.Mine was new 20 years ago and is(was) nice.I had the base cut so all of that extra metal hanging down is gone,looks a lot cleaner to my eyes.

Yes you can,I have one on my 65 and it just clears.I do have a torque bar going from the head to the frame so I dont know if there will be a issue with out it.Not a 340 but a healthy 318 but should work the same. Oh and it clears the hood bars.....

I have used a battery terminal puller to get arms off. Just some upward pressure and a light tap on the end of the puller.

I had a glass shop cut me a stack and if I knew where they are I would send you one.We have moved three times since then and well, you know.......lol

Testors also makes a paint marker.Be careful using nail polish,it is lacquer and if you used enamel it can craze the silver base coat.
