The Dealership usually sells Mopar enamel rattle cans. Or buy online. Holds up well

    Early A V8 Headers/Exhaust

I have two 66 valiants. One with 833 and one with a tremec (obviously no zbar). The Doug’s I put in with an 833. The zbar setup I replaced with new stuff from Brewers.

    Early A V8 Headers/Exhaust

I’ve installed both Tti( when they first came out for early a) and Doug’s. One with manual steering and one with power. Both are 66 valiants. The torsion bars are a ***** with TTIs unless they’ve improved them in the last 10 years. Had to use a clocked starter with TTIs. I have a Lakewood...

64 Valiant Convertible, time to pick a color. Red, White or Black?

Do something with all three colors. White body, early Barracuda rally stripes in red with thin black outline. Or vs vs Steelies in your color choice. What color is your tonneau cover?

1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

Good folks on here indeed. I think you need a big Ben&Jerry’s sticker. New flavor Valiant Mooopar!!!:poke: Yep those skinny 13s make it look funny. I agree 14s with a taller tire will make a big difference.

Early Valiant with XHD leaf sprAngs.

Have them on my 66 valiant. Raises the back end ALOT. Wish I had some good pics. Guess this post is worthless without pics

Updated SPITFIRE HEADER INSTALL 63-66 A-body

Easy install but Sold them long ago. Have a set of Doug’s on that car now. 90* oil filter adapter worked well. I have one of the early-a tti sets on my convertible valiant as well. Pita installing those but they look great.

Getting Rid of the Hood Torsion Springs on the Early A-Body

Very clean. I commend your awesome skills. :prayer: What rating did you go with on the hood lift cylinders? Curious to know If I ever change my design. Looks like I could incorporate this into my existing setup? But it looks like the length would be my issue :violent1: Oh well, thanks for the...

Getting Rid of the Hood Torsion Springs on the Early A-Body

LOL thanks. Well I got married, moved into my wife's house that did not have space for my cars, i kept them stored at my old house, 9 months ago we bought a new house with land enough to build myself a separate 3-car garage with a lift. The architectural review board considers my garage plans...

Getting Rid of the Hood Torsion Springs on the Early A-Body

It's been a while since I've been on FABO. Glad to see you took the plunge Fig. At the time, I figured that welding that piece of iron to the front door pillar would keep the kick panel metal from flexing over time. I really like the kickpanel idea. It does clean things up for sure. Did you...

    Doug's headers instillation

That was my article. Having a manual tranny makes a big difference in the ease of install. Depending on what 360 and bellhousing you have it can be a real *****. I've installed Tti headers in my other 66 with the tremec 5speed. Dougs were easier overall. Spitfires being the easiest i've ever...

    66 barrracuda/valiant guys

It's the same 340. Went with Hughes retro-fit roller lifters. No work done to lifter bores of the block needed. Just had to have work done on the pusrod holes to open them up for the crappy pushrod/lifter geometry and 1.6 rockers. Should be a healthy motor. yes it has been a very long time...

    66 barrracuda/valiant guys

Been a nightmare with the geometry of the Hyd roller setup. Just got the pushrods back last week. Had to clearance the pushrod holes a touch more. That was a major pita with the heads on the car. The motor is buttoned up. Need to install radiator, hoses, tighten headers and hookup exhaust and...

    66 barrracuda/valiant guys

15x5.5 with 3" BS. I run 205/60/15 up front with zero issues. The profile looks nice and still maintains that old muscle car look.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

Glad to hear you got it together Dave and the power improved. Will be interesting to see the diff in the x vs. h-pipe. Did you end up massaging them?

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I agree. If I could custom TIG stainless that's the route I would go.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

Dave. Look into changing you tranny tail shaft angle. You can gain some clearance here. That's what I did but I had the tremec. Try some washers/shims under the tranny mount. Just a thought for ya.

Biggest tire and 15" wheel possible on a 1966 Dart?

I run 255/60/15. I have the offset shackles. Plenty of room with proper backspacing
  24. daves66valiant

    I can see!!!!!!!!!!!

this is something i need to do as well. Dan, did you do a write up on the headlight rewiring? I've seen the MAD electrical article. Anything different you did for yours?

    Cowl hood

Mine looks pretty bad *** on my 66 valiant IMO. Who gives a **** if it's not a Mopar hood scoop.

    340 or 360 for 66 Barracuda?

Either will do. Although, I dig the nostalgia of the 340 and always dreamed of building a car with a 340 in it. I remember my uncle telling me stories about his bad *** 69 340 Swinger. On another note. A newer roller 360 would do nicely.

This is what a '66 Valiant Signet should look like

Same exact interior as my car too. Can't get it (ostrich) from Legendary last time I checked. Very nice little 66 for sure
