Mine was not a commando. Original 273 column auto/ps/non ac LA California built. Currently 340, tti headers and exhaust, tremec 5-spd, front discs with hydro boost, 8 3/4 Detroit tru-trac 3.91s, offset leaf springs, custom canvas top, EE-1 paint, 15” Stockton wheels.

Still don't have it finished but here's mine. Hope to have it done in the next year now that my new garage is built this was the first day i got it

$700 is a good price. don't ask what my custom canvas top cost.

Thanks Steve. That really helps. If the guy does work for Pure Vision then thats the guy I want to talk to. I'm doing a Canvas top and would like to have it matched to the color of my car. Or at least something that will go well with the color combo.

I have some black rustoleum I can use with my spray gun. I will try this and see how it works. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Can anyone tell me the way they restored their convertible frames? I've been thinking of getting the whole frame powdercoated. Is this possible with all the hinges? Otherwise I was going to paint it plain black.

Where did you buy yours from? That is the top I want on mine.

After mulling it over for some time I think I have decided on getting a blue cloth top for my convertible. I think it gives the car that custom modern look that I like. I think the blue top will match the color of the car much better than the black vinyl top that I ordered from Legendary...

Any of you guys install a new convertible top on an early a-body. i have never done it before and it looks fairly daunting. Should I have someone install it or give it a shot myself.
