When I had problems with my 72 demon, non rally dash, it was the regulator on the dash. Mine read to hot. I would get a factory service manual. You could also have a wiring problem at the bulk head.

when you replaced the sensor,did you pull the houseing that sensor bolts to and check the plastic drive gear for wear ?

i thinks he means a power wire/cable for a radio amp.

check to see if bumped the conector for turn signal switch at base of steering coulub.

i know with my 72,i had drop steering columb to get the cluster out,loose conection at ignition switch?,linkage for shifter out of adjustment ?

it's standard one for my 72 demon. i will transfer the new volt gauge into the cluster in the demon when i'm ready to do the wireing work to bypass the amp gauge.

i pick up a used cluster assbly to do this. useing a 20 doller sun pro volt gauge that i cut open to transfer internal parts to backing of old gauge. i had to cut backing to make it fit. then drilled new holes for screws to mount volt gauge to backing. also had to open up cluster houseing holes...

i have seen the thread,read mad electrical that you posted,this car 100 % stock,no add ons .once the weather here breaks i an going to pull bulkhead apart and solder the wires. i just don't want to do to modifcations to unmolested car.thanks for your input.

i have read about guys use a sunpro volt gauge and makeing work with amp gauge faceplate.i bought the sunpro volt gauge at autozone,also know where a 74 dart in scrap yard to get another amp gauge to convert.

hey if has a cracked exhaust manifold new o2 sensor will not work correctly due to exhaust leaking out before sensor can read correct conten of o2

frist acr was 1993 dodge dynasty with denso alt. after removeing alternator found continuity from feild to out put stud.caused back feed to igntion switch.i could unplug switch with car running and would stay running,had battery power in harness with switch unpluged.second car was 1978 dodge aspen.

i seen many alternators short out causeing same problem.feild shorts out,pull off two field wires.see if stops.
