what harmonic balancer should I get for my 340?

According to Pro/Race website, _they_ supply MP : http://www.pro-race.com/Retailer.htm EDIT: I have spoken to Pro/Race today (6/17) and they only supply the SFI-approved unit P5249690 - the 4452816 is a cheap Chinese-made unit. Dean.

What harmonic balancer should I get for my 390?

It will be internally balanced. Dean.

What harmonic balancer should I get for my 390?

I didn't want to interrupt the "what harmonic balancer should I get for my 340?" thread :toothy10: So, what would be the recommendation from members on a suitable harmonic balancer for a 318/390 stroker with a cast 4" crank, for a street-only application ? I think an SFI-approved damper is...

    .60 over 318 stroker?

60 over with a 4" stroke will give you about 395 ci. I would be digging out your sonic block measurements (you did get the block sonic checked when you bored it to 60 over ?). As long as you have plenty of material left on the major stroke you should be ok. My first 318 block had .135 on...

    349 CI on the cheap

If it's Nova Scotia, it will definitely be Sandy C. I am fairly sure he also has one of the few (or only!) Aussie late-body utes in North America...I know he had either bought one or was looking at one a few years back when he came to Melbourne... Dean.

Minimum cylinder wall depth for a 318 stroker build

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have another block lined up and hope to get better figures out of it 8) I'll try to get more dimensions down the bore (I do have front-to-rear but didn't list them to save on typing!) Dean.

Minimum cylinder wall depth for a 318 stroker build

I am building a 318 stroker, and my stock-bore block has just come back from a sonic check with "undesirable" cylinder wall thickness.. Here is what I have (reading from top of bore / middle / bottom) : Cylinder 1: OUTER SIDE: 270 /208 / 241, INNER: 194 / 148 / 186 Cylinder 2: OUTER: 194...

Another Magnum > LA question - head bolts

dgc333 - TY, $63 appears to be their price for MP parts. DusterBoy15 - I can't see them for $48 either bobscuda67 - TY, that looks like a great price (they're a bit hard to find in their online catalog, they olny appear under certain years of the Magnum run :toothy10:). whitey - yes, they...

Another Magnum > LA question - head bolts

What head bolts have others fitted to Magnum heads on LA blocks ? - the Mopar set I have been quoted $105 (I would assume the set of 10) from a dealer. I believe they need to be National Coarse thread grade 8 or better. Is there a better and/or cheaper option ? Thanks, Dean.

Anyone done the 318 to 390 stroker build ?

I am slowly pulling the parts together for my 318/390 stroker build, you would save a little on buying parts individually but you'll probably lose that saving in additional freight costs. Unless you're really attached to the 318 I would go the 360 route also - and if it only has 5000 miles...

Magnum head 6mm valve OD tolerance

For anybody else who was looking for the info, it is: 7.899-7.925mm (0.311-0.312 in). The eBay units are right on the money, the only difference is the face groove is somewhat smaller. Dean.

Magnum head 6mm valve OD tolerance

For the stems - and yes, 8mm not 6mm (not sure why I typed 6mm). Dean.

Magnum head 6mm valve OD tolerance

Does anybody here have a factory spec for the 6mm valves used on the Magnum heads, specifically the OD tolerances, though any other specs would be useful also. I have bought a set of stainless valves and want to check them before the heads go in for rebuilding. I have a Magnum-specific book...

    360 engines, from aus

    >>ive been offered a 360 engine and its aparently an austrailian 360 and is suppose to have thicker cylinder walls It would be an early casting as the 360 was only offered in the larger-size "Chrysler by Chrysler" (great name huh?), and these were only around from 1972 to 74 or thereabouts...
