    Temperature Gauge Issue

OK, tomorrow I’m going to take the Teflon off and try it again. If nothing then, I’ll have someone test the sending unit. Thanks for all the advise.

    Temperature Gauge Issue

There is Teflon on the new sending unit but a friend touched the plus side of the battery and the side of the sending unit with a test light and the light came on. He said the sending unit is grounded. Is he wrong? Is there a fuse that might cause the gauge not to work?

    Temperature Gauge Issue

I have a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport 340. The only thing not working was the temperature gauge. I tested the gauge by grounding the push on plug and turned the key on. The gauge pinned to hot. Turned the key off and it went back down. I'm thinking that is easy, I need a new temperature gauge sending...

    Engine wiring harness.

Thanks, I think I will use it with Year One if you have it. I think the one I need is the part Number: HU226A Engine/Forward light harness for 1968 Valiant and Dart slant-6 models, and Dart 383 models.

    Engine wiring harness.

This says for 1967 Barracuda. Will it also fit my 68 383 Dart? I'm also not sure about the other areas that have to be updated. I think I have the original points distributor.

    Distributor Question.

The distributor is a 2875356 that is correct for a 1968 383ci 4bbl and manual transmission. No flip-up oil cap on the side. No felt pad inside the shaft under the rotor. Just a nylon bushing and metal washer on the bottom with a pin. here are a couple of photos.

    Distributor Question.

I picked up the correct distributor for my Dart. I disassembled it, cleaned it and am ready to put it back together. I am not sure what type of grease/oil I should put on the long shaft. Will white lithium grease work? I am going to install the Pertronix in it so I am not worrying about the top...
