Hey Edd, it looks like you might be onto something there! That has definitely popped out of place and would explain a few things, like the problem with it sticking when moving the shift lever from park as well as why you only have one gear. Get that back in place and you might be good to go...

Hi Don, I just put a new switch in my truck (727) it was only around $20 and we had one in stock at work. They are simple to change just jack it up on the drivers side like said above & you shouldn't lose too much oil.

I've got that pic and the factory service manuals what is confusing me is that on my cover the bolt pattern is the same top & bottom(if the carrier was out it looks like you could flip the cover over and bolt it on). My appraiser claimed it as an 8.25 as well. I don't have the car out yet to get...

Can anybody confirm my diff as an 8.25? I apologize for cutting the top off but it does have the ten bolts just confused about the shape of the cover. All the info and pics show the cover as more round than this mine is straight on the sides. I just ordered a bearing kit but now I'm 2nd guessing...
