    Lowest cost 400 stroker

THIS ^. In many cases IF you can find an old school shop to work on 40-50 year old parts, it will cost less to just get a kit and be done.

    Stroke a 383 or just build a mild 440?

Without digging through your build thread, can you share the details of the motor? Also what headers did you choose? Thanks!

    Speaking of Schumacher headers...

So you're saying you picked up .44 going to TTI's from the shorty headers?

    Speaking of Schumacher headers...

Big block duster pain in the A$$

With TTI headers, it's much easier if the steering column and torsion bars go in last.

How fast are big block Duster's.

AND...the converter. If it's all sorted out and these 2 areas especially, it ought to run LOW 11's easy. OP - Sounds like a fun combo!

Went to the dyno this morning....

Electric pump, regulator set at 7 psi and (minimum) 3/8" line from the tank to the regulator. Use a 1/2 pick up in the tank or better yet add a sump with 1/2 " NPT bungs. Need to KNOW the compression ratio and the cam specs to KNOW where you're at in producing (or not) the power. 915 heads...

    400's are they any good?

A 4.00 crank would cost more money that it's worth. If you're going that far, just a good, in-stock anywhere 4.15 crank...use shelf stocked pistons and rods... Can the block handle 1000HP with a stock block? Maybe it would...once. If you're spending at the 1000HP level only choice is an...

    400's are they any good?

Go to moparts.com and ask 383man about his son's 400 Dart. Pump gas, .557 MP cam, Eddy heads, very mild, very streetable...11.40 as driven on the street with 3.91's. (Well, with slicks...) I had a 400 back in the day, (early 80's) and a Duster and no money. I decked the block to get the...

post 11 second big block combos

From "back in the day"...had to pull out the logbook/notes but I was reminded what a FUN, low dollar, low maintenance bracket car, that could've easily been street driven! 69 STOCK Dart body (3,320 with my 250#'s in the seat.) 70 6bbl shortblock, STOCK with .060 in the hole slugs 906 heads...
