    You don't need to heli-coil all of the holes to prevent a balance problem. Heli-coil the bad hole......there will be no balance problem!

    .050" is pretty close, but as long as it's not touching pressure plate fingers you should be good. Is the fork and all of the linkage original and/or correct?

    In the past, this piece was steel in most of the clutch adjuster service kits that you could buy. I'm not sure if anyone offers this with the steel piece anymore.

    Yeah I guess I forgot that about the Supershifter. Mine is a Supershifter 2, but all I know is that it's 33 years old,still works great, and I can bang an 833 with the best of 'em.

    My shifter rods are straight. They fit and nothing was cut, modified, etc.

    Sorry to disagree, but I have a Super Shifter (I know this for a fact) in my '73 340 Duster, and absolutely no modifications were done to install it. The newer Super Shifters may be different, but mine is 33 years old.

    Been there done that. I just made an "adapter plate" to bolt on the bellhousing and raise that end of the Z bar up so it wouldn't bind.

    I'm going to tackle it again probably tomorrow night. I'll look at going at it from the other end as you suggest and see if things go a little better. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the reply. Mine spring in hooked over a "pin" coming off the side of the clutch pedal but there is a groove on the "pin" that the spring fits in an a large end on the "pin" to keep the spring from sliding off. So it looks like you have to strech the spring enough to allow it to...

    That's interesting. In the early 70's way before all of the clutch technology, exotic lining materials, etc. and when the most radical clutch available was the Ram with the "cleaning lady" disc, we made it just fine with Hays, Zoom, Scheifer, etc. I used all of them at one time or another and...
