Let's See Your Factory Consoles with Ratchet Shifters.

4 foot. Had a heck of a time running it so it was far enough away from the headers. First cable burned up in no time. Second cable I put a heat sheeth on to protect it

Let's See Your Factory Consoles with Ratchet Shifters.

The car is a 68 so the dash is correct for it. I didn't know the top plate is a 69. It's the console that was in the car when I bought it. How do you tell the difference?

Let's See Your Factory Consoles with Ratchet Shifters.

I am using a B&M Quicksilver. Here are some pics. I made an indicator plate to bolt to the console because I wanted the shifter to properly show what gear it is in when my wife drives it

    radio?

I have the back light wire hooked up on mine so it illuminates when I turn the headlights on but I unhooked the main power wire because I knew I'd never use it and I needed a power supply wire for the new stereo. I wouldn't advise trying to tee 2 radio's together because each radio puts out...

    radio?

Does your IPOD have a straight plug or 90 degree angled plug? If it's a straight plug you can probably go to Radio Shack and find a right angle plug adapter. It may give you the needed clearance so you don't have to do all the extra work. Just a thought.

    radio?

My original radio looked great also so I just bought a stereo and made a bracket to hang it under the dash. Here's a couple pics BTW: I wouldn't say that installing an aftermarket stereo "destroys" the value but I don't think it looks right IMO but you know what they say about opinions. :-D

    Steering column color question

I bought a good used steering column for my 68 Cuda because mine was all butchered up and both my original and the new one have been repainted. One is gloss black and the other is flat black. The new one is scratched up and needs repainting anyway and I'd like it to be correct before I install...

B+M shifter built in to stock console

Thanks Demon. That looks real good. I can see what I'm gonna have to tell the wife to get me for Christmas.:angel9: I know what you mean about them darn black carpets. I can vacuum mine and let the car set in the garage with the windows up I swear and next time I go out there there's something...

    Aftermarket shifter with A-body console

Wow! Now that's radical. I don't want to cut up my console though. That's the main idea. To keep the console intact. If he would've trimmed it out it wouldn't look too bad. Just a racy look.

    Aftermarket shifter with A-body console

Good deal!! Thanks Demon. Just looking at it I wasn't sure if it would fit in there. Didn't want to buy one and find out the hard way I couldn't make it fit.

    Aftermarket shifter with A-body console

Anybody ever try to install a aftermarket ratchet shifter in one of our A-body consoles? Like one of the B&M or Hurst shifters. I'd like to have a ratchet shifter and tried the conversion plate deal for my stock shifter to make it a ratchet type but don't really care for it. After trying a...

    What's everybody doing for seats?

Heck if Moparfan fit Cordoba seats in his, Charger seats should fit in yours. They shouldn't be any bigger than the Doby seats. Get out a tape measure and see how they look with it first. That would give you a good idea but I bet they will fit. Many of the seat frames underneath are the same...

    What's everybody doing for seats?

Ran into the seat problem here too. I went junkyard shopping and found a real nice set out of a 91 Plymouth Laser for $75 that recline and have lumbar adjustments. Real comfortable and since their cloth it makes not having air not quite as bad. The only hard part was adapting them to the stock...

    Need help identifying bucket seats

Adam even though that's not the way he worded it you might be right. I found a pix of both in a Legendary catalog and the only diff. I see is the chrome medallion (guess that's what it's called) in the middle of the back is vertical on one and mounted horizontal on the other. I'll try to post a...

    Need help identifying bucket seats

I bought a set of seats that were supposed to be originally from a 69 Cuda hoping to use them in my 68 Cuda. At first glance they looked as correct as I could determine but my knowledge is limited in this area. The rails are the type that raise the seats like an a-body but they are not offset...
