It can be done. Heater core holes are in the same spot. As stated above extra holes need to be filled in and the blower motor hole needs to be smaller...

This is the paint I am using on my 1969 GTS. Trying to match the original colour. I have the ground strap that was bolted to the rear of the motor for reference.
