Rubber Pad on 8 3/4 Spring setup?

My 73 duster had the isolator mounts on it. I just hacked them off today and welded regular perches on the rear. It has an 8 -1/4 rear in it.

    Rear shackles

Yes, I saw that post and I will definitely look them over beforehand. Anything is better than what is currently on my Duster.

What did you do for chassis stiffening?

I plan on 2x3 stock and make them myself as well. I am also toying with making a new core support, from the tubing as well.

What did you do for chassis stiffening?

As the title asks, what did you do to stiffen your car? Frame connectors, core support, torque boxes, front frame braces? Did you make them or buy kits like the us car tool stuff? I'm just getting ideas for my Duster and would like to hear and see what you share. I'm toying with making frame...

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

Thought I would update... 2 more alignments and it still pulled after 40ish miles. Kept bringing it back and dealer put an "a" tech on it and had to call Chrysler engineering... since so many alignments were done on it, front wheel only, the dealer had to farm it out to a place that could do a 4...

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

It does pull when cold. All the time. The more I drive it, the more it pulls and pulls harder. I drove it to the purchasing dealer yesterday. Sales manager was extremely helpful, service dept sucked ***. Told me to bring it back Thursday. I refused him and told him where the truck is parked is...

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

Well, the dealership I am using for service is not the same dealer I purchased from. 2 reasons, purchasing dealer is 30 miles away and not as good as where I usually get service from and they are only a few minutes away from home. I think you're right and that I need to go to purchasing dealer...

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

My Ram is, as it was built. I added running boards and a cap on the bed. I only drive it when my 2yr old son is with me. If it is a tire pull, switching them to the rear won't really do anything will it? Eventually they will get rotated back up front again, and have the same problem I'm having...

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

As far as I know, they have not. I thought about doing that myself today, but at the same time I don't want to touch it. The dealership needs to fix it. Thanks Paul

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

Freaking brand new truck and it has issues already. The dealer I use is really good. They didn't believe me when I told them it was pulling again after the 1st alignment. 3rd time they will really think I'm full of ****. I wonder if I should try another dealer?

    2018 Ram alignment help needed!

Hi all! I bought a 2018 Ram bighorn last month and i have alignment issues. It keeps pulling left. Had it aligned at 300ish miles, and 100 miles later started doing it again. Pulling hard enough, when you let go of the wheel you change lanes . Brought it back to dealer again today at 641 miles...

    Ramcharger question

Oh, sorry I forgot. It's an 87 Ramcharger. I don't ever remember preloading them is why I ask. Thanks!

    Ramcharger question

On a 4wd Ramcharger, the upper ball joints have an adjustor nut on the inside of the axle. Do they get preloaded to the ball joint, or are they for the alignment? The guy at the parts counter told me that they needed to be preloaded and thats why they include the adjustor nut. I don't recall...

    Ball joint socket size

Yes, I want to buy the 4 point ball joint socket. I see a bunch Mac and Snap on, online fairly cheap and I want one for my toolbox. I usually just rent one from my parts store, but I use them enough to have my own.

Forgot to mention, they were installed backwards as well.

    help ID torsion bars

I did. The left one was slightly smaller. .865 vs. .868. I have appropriately named this Duster, Pandora. The more I uncover with it, the more I find very wrong with it. It'll get fixed just longer and I will spend more than expected to get it right. Thanks

    help ID torsion bars

Can anyone id the torsion bars I pulled from my car. I get the 892, but the left one I dont know. I also presume they are not a matched set. Thanks

    Wheel bearing noise

Thanks guys. I ordered the upper and lower trans mounts today, since one side is bad. I also ordered new front wheel bearings today. Easy to change and they were not that expensive to give them a try first. I did already replace all the u-joints in the driveshafts, but not in the front axles...

    Wheel bearing noise

Thanks Guys! I'll give the suggestions a try. I did also notice that the passenger side trans mount is blown too so that needs to be fixed as well, which can be adding to my various noises. Thanks!

    Wheel bearing noise

I am chasing down noises on my 87 Ramcharger that had been sitting for several years before I bought it. I replaced the pinion bearings in the rear, but not the carrier bearings. I have a whining noise at different speeds and when I turn the wheel to the left it goes away and when turned to the...

    Moog offset bushing install question.

Cool. So I will install with the front bushing hole offset farthest from the balljoint, and the rear bushing hole offset closest to the balljoint. I thought the instructions were different than what needed to be done to get maximum + caster.

    Moog offset bushing install question.

I am about to install the Moog offset bushings in the UCA's. Do the arrows on both bushings face the ball joint, or do I install them with the rear facing the ball joint and the front facing away from the balljoint? I am a little confused on it. Thanks!
