It's seems these T-ram threads always go in the same direction.. I'm just curious about something, How did the factory long ram engines perform? The runners are a lot longer then a T-ram plus they were in heavyass mopars.. I guess maybe high compression and a solid cam? I dunnno I've never...

I never did mess with the 400's, are thay thin wall casting blocks?? Going from 400 to a 512 just blows my freakin' mind... Are you going to hardblock it up the the frost plug holes??

You're right... I was thinkin' outside the frame because 66's are narrower, without torsion bars and colume shift linkage, I probably can run inside the frame, I'll also have a mini-starter...

I'm building a straight axle gasser, I might have a liittle more "wiggle room" as far as inner fender wells, I can also re-locate the upper shock mounts...

I've not really gotten into full blown research on 383/440 headers for a 66-Valiant yet, what I have seen is that these fenderwell A-body header prices are going to stick me with a set of stock manifolds if I don't come up with someting else, thats just "BUDGET REALITY".... Has anyone on here...

Go for it!!! I know where a 1967 HP 440 is I need to re-check on, closed chamber heads, steel crank, you know, ole' school junk.. I've been letting him simmer on that last price quote for 2 years now, Ba$tard will probably go up on me ;)

I'd prefer the factory six pack rods and steel crank anyday over the china junk, 440's don't need to be twisted 8000 rpm... Maybe I'm just ole' school...

Maybe this solves the mystery of why I saw so many 383 magnums suck a non HP 440's headlights out back in the early 80's..

Dang, those factory specs are higher than the edelbrock performer plus, 270-280/.420-.442....

Thay may be out dated, but every 440 6-pack bottom end I ever tore down the block would crack before the rods or crank would let go..

Do you have a good set of 8?? Do they have press in pins or floater? How much for a set?

You may be right about the 425hp @ 5000, but you gotta consider that chrysler "de-tuned" the Hemi to come up with that figure...
