Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Sir, remember AVgas has paraffin, which creates carbon deposits in the chamber and onto the piston heads. RRR says revving up the engine hot burns that up. I bet water injection would help too. I believe enough carbon buildup would add heat, perhaps uneven heat in the chamber-potentially...

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

There is an entire CULT Following of fast ugly cars, it evolved/branched off into ratrods. You will be cool. This isn’t like the clicks in grade school with the best dressed kids-nobody (relatively) has these cars, and even those that do have the common-CRAP Chevies & mustangs, not original...

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Why? Planning the most power on a budget. Perhaps iron906 or 346 heads would get more flow than entry level ($550) assembled aluminum heads that are then ported.

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Yeah E-85 with maybe some AVgas would be great, and affordable, but like you said inconsistent (we found it to be very dirty (perhaps less refined or filtered) in South East Georgia. But 108 octane would cushion against detonation on a high end build. I wonder if it would separate if mixed with...

Jim, (based off the article provided, 340 cfm) do your ported 906 heads flow better than basic aluminum heads then?

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Competitive in my neck of the woods is late model mustangs, Camaros, some vettes, small block Chevy‘s, LS swaps and classic big block cars. Definitely pistons, appropriate machining, only considering low compression with turbos-but again it seems like $$ pressure management $$ is computer...

What was the BBM that you built for the engine masters competition where they ran your engine without coolant? I thought that was a 361 based block., sir.

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Like what you build sir. An LS engine (6.2 Liter-408ci, LS7 -entry level, but without problems, if 408 stroker built, best probable cam, include their fuel injection wiring harness.-the real top end entry level contenders-allot like the way your family built big blocks!

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

Yeah 500ci’s is an answer, but for the track. It would be hard to pass 8 gas stations with 500ci’s and a 3 speed auto

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

It sounds like you’re saying Big blocks are irrelevant on the street. I am under the belief that most car people (HERE) don’t have that kind of money, but they do soup up cars, and additionally LS swaps ARE cheap. I realize that out in California, & in the NorthEast/big cities that there are...

Can a 400BBM w/cheap aluminum heads compete/dominate against the street LS?

I don’t mind losing to more money, and most here (SATX) don’t sport so much effort; I am aiming for the LS swap guys or the occasional LS build. The 400 I have was $250, speedmaster heads were $500+ ...am not looking to fight Tyson for the championship, just whatever the average contender is...

Planning BBM purpose/capability versus investment. Competing against 6.2 & 408ci LS strokers, LS7’s What would it take to/can a 400BBM Compete against other well-sorted LS street engines? thanks for your consideration!/time!!

?Respectfully Request explanation of how/what this kit rod b engine fuel pump works/does?

Thank you so much! After the home invasion & divorce, I have been sorting through all the Mopar I purchased while in the Navy. The perp hid in the garage, the police looked for him, too many stacked boxes around the project car-they never found him. You needed a hover board or a leprechaun to...

    400/450 stroker....Cheap parts, lotta work.

if you didn't do any of that, and kept the rpm maxed at 5500 rpm, it wouldn't matter too much would it? It would affect longevity, and smooth operation, but the bearings wouldn't suffer immediately would they?

    Brodix heads

-they have a good/great reputation as a company that makes a quality product. you probably would be ahead with those heads selected in your build. they can be improved upon, but you have better foundation for the top end of your build with those heads.

    Valve to piston clearance ?

how much stretch is there in the valve train when it heats up? When Jim/IQ52 competed in the engine masters Mopar muscle challenge, this other guy with a 361 had his valve hit his 361 piston and blow up the motor. I assume that he did a valve to piston check...? is this limit pushed with these...
