My pump has a keyway and nut. It's not a pressed fit. I'm guessing the diameter of the pulley is irrelevant if I don't have one to begin with. Thanks on the measurements Doc I appreciate it. Probably go with the size inbetween.
So it's a 65 Dart Gt, just put a later model 360 in it that I built but all the old power steering pump, brackets etc was for the older style motor. I got a federal pump and brackets and was told that the Saginaw and federal were the same keyway pulley. Is this right? I thought they were 7 inch...
So what's the main difference in the different size pump pulleys? Does it have an effect on pressure output due to mechanical advantage or what? I need to order a pulley for a federal pump I have and am not sure what size to go with. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks for getting back to me guys. So I have the TRW pump with the later model aluminium water pump. I bought the bracket kit from whitepunk and he said that this bracket kit would work with my old pump. I havent figured out how after further looking at it. Aside from getting a saginaw pump im...
Hey guys. Does anyone have or can you get a good shot of your power steering bracket setup? So I bought a power steering bracket setup from a member to adapt the older style power steering pump to a newer block. It's the 4 piece bracket setup and I'm a bit stumped on the proper install. Any pics...
In order to run the rear disc you have to run the green bearings. It's just the way the system is configured that's all. Like the guys said, do you need disc? No but if you are planning you have a **** ton of go, not a bad idea to have a ton of woah
Nope it was super easy. Just make sure your aftermarket axles have an access hole drilled in the face to get to the bolts behind the axle. Aside from that piece of cake. Even the parking brake cables lined right up. Make sure you get green bearings on whatever axles you get.
My rear wilwood kit with parking brake was about 600 but I will never go back to drum after it. If you are sinking all that money into that rear what's a few hundred more for a way better system
Yea I was in Utah at the little Sahara dunes. Went off a witchback and fell 60' landed on my back. 5 years later I'm still in a chair. But I sure do miss the dunes!
Yea mine was around 2100 lbs and I'm with you on power to weight. Mine was fast but not insanely fast. My buddy has a Nelson Racing twin in his that makes 1400 hp on the mild setting. Now its scary, not enough real estate to open it up unless we go to glamis. Since I broke my back on a quad I've...
Looks a lot like my old sand car. It was a monster rail with LSX power naturally asp. Man I miss that car. There was a nice one at goodguys swap for 30k. I was tempted but have too many projects. What shocks were you running? I ran Kings looks like you may have been too.
Thankfully all my hard parts are still hard.......oh wrong subject lol. I inspected all ball joints and tie rods and they are all good just need to replace some of the bushings. Thanks for all the info guys ill exhaust all options.
Yea dealt with them many years ago as well. Seemed a bit expensive at the time that was the reason I was wondering if there was an alternative place to go.
Where's the best place you guys have found to buy front end bushings? I'm pulling the front k member and going through all of it. Should I go poly or rubber? It's for a 65 dart so not sure who will stock those parts for early A's. might try summit to see what they have but I'm open to...
Man I guess I really need to get to know John because apparently he can jerk people around for MONTHS and still be number 1 in their eyes. Guess I was one of the lucky ones to get my parts in 3 weeks. He made the comment to me when he finally returned my email about being out of town at a race...
