    Blowing voltage regulators

In my case, it was a bad battery. It was causing my alternator to charge constantly, blowing VR's left & right. I didn't suspect the battery since there was no other signs, like the starter dragging, or dim lights. Then, the battery just quit all of the sudden, wouldn't even turn over once. All...

    Blowing voltage regulators

Any thoughts? I've had 2 VR's go out, same failure at the fusable link. These were both NAPA VR32's.

    Blowing voltage regulators

Every legitimate question on this site, results in an informational prick waving contest of epic proportions. I receive a lot of info here....and I'm very thankful for that. It's just sad that simple questions can't be answered here anymore.

    Another Ammeter bypass question:

Why is there no videos on here of the bypass?? People are using upwards of 60 posts, only to help no one. WTF? Thought this was the place to go? Wire diagrams mean nothing 2 me. Step by step instructions would be sweet.

brake light out- turn signal switch?

I bought the year one switch, installed today and it doesn't work. I went from havin brake lights only, to nothing after installation. I fear that I'm going to have to take the switch apart and tweak the "contact wires" until they are properly alligned. F'kin maddening!

    318 Misfire

Replaced the condenser and coil with new parts from Napa and re-adjusted the points to .017 and it straightened it right out. Runs great. I did notice that it took over 15mmHg of vacuum to even start to engage the vacuum advance, so I'll probably be ordering one of those next. Thanks for all of...

    318 Misfire

So, he had the timing @ 10° BTDC, I bumped it up to 15° and it liked it under throttle....but still misfiring at idle and cruising. @Jadaharabi, good suggestion. Napa has a stock replacement coil on hand, thinking of trying that since this one is 50 yrs old.

    318 Misfire

I totally agree with the timing. My dad sets all timing by ear. Everything on the fuel side is new from tank to carb. Fuel line was blown out, no blockages there.

    318 Misfire

I need help, or validation from all of the other threads I've read to just get a new dizzy. I have a '70 318 with a stock points distributor & coil in a '69 dart /6 car. 600cfm eddie 2176 performer dual plane and dual exhaust. I'm just wanting to cruise it around town on vacation here in AZ...

How to - Hillbilly Timing Tape

Some people really need to rewiew their decimal places, or get digital calipers. The difference between these 2 measurements is over a half inch! .062 = 1/16

    I'm headed that route also.

    Turn signal cancel cam

I stared at your picture with the little piece of metal you placed between the contacts, and finally realized what I needed to do. Using any straight-edge you can eye-ball exactly how far, and where to bend the contacts to work make contact with the ones on the base. I got my brake lights...

One brake light, but blinkers work??

Everything I s trimmed. I'm almost certain that the contact wires need to be custom fit. This will just be a huge p.I.t.a.!

One brake light, but blinkers work??

Nothing was changed, I bent the wires/rods to match the one I took off. Other than that nothing was different. I'm going out right now to screw with the wires to see what happens.

One brake light, but blinkers work??

Sorry, you're right. Only one brake light. I replaced the turn signal switch with one from the help section at vatozone. It looked identical to the one that was on it except the contact wires/rods seemed to have been bent for a better connection, so I did the same to the new one. Do I have to...

One brake light, but blinkers work??

1969 dart auto on the column. Here's what I've done so far.. First I replaced both bulbs, then I replaced the blinker cam since it was bad anyways. Now I went from having all blinkers and only one tail light to having one tail light and no blinkers. I'm not sure what I did. Simply replaced old...
