Dodge Colt...is it an A BODY???

(The article does have a couple of mistakes...the main one is saying that Carlton drove the "wire-car" Duster. It's my understanding that he passed away before the car was ever finished.) I believe Don Carlton worked and drove both the wire car and yellow small block car

Fastest Street Cars In Your Town, 'Back In The Day'

68 Coronet 500 with a 383 HP motor/ auto car. This thing was really fast for what it was on the street. I sat in the passenger seat of this car many of a night smoking big block Camaros. 440 GTX. 440 Coronet R/T. Cougar Eliminator. All kinds of other wannabe cars. :burnout:

    440 valve cover leaks???

I was told that if you put a slight bead of black silicon between the valve cover and gasket only and bolt it on. Let stand overnight to set up, it will fix the problem. The silicon will take any imperfections out of the cast valve covers. Any better ideas out there???

    440 valve cover leaks???

Well that seems to be issue I am having. There seems to be no sense in putting 5 more sets on before changing them anyhow, unless someone out there has a "secret to the seal". I will wait for a few more post while I shop for some valve covers online.

    440 valve cover leaks???

Well I am looking for opinions on what is the best valve cover gasket for the 440 with the black cast valve covers, and does anyone use a helper with them. Such as: silicone, indian head gasket, etc. The small blocks I have no problems with. I usually use the reusable gray gaskets (can't...

    1968 Barracuda Pictures... Opinions Wanted

I like the Trans Am style street car idea. 340 six-pac, 4spd or keisler 5 spd. add some Trans am graphics on the side of the resprayed original gold color. looks like a nice and fun project. 6k seems like a good deal to me. I have put alot of these older A-bodies together, there not cheap...

(was) Very disappointed in Mancini Racing

funny i just had a bad experience with Mancini last week as well. First in 10 years, although I am not a big buyer. I ordered the calvert u-bolts that are specific to the monoleaf spring. They are a gold anodized and have them pictured in there flyer. I went thru them instead of Calvert because...

    Value of a 340

340 for real power, short stroke, perfect rod ratio. It was built to be bad ***. Besides if your replacing a 318, do you really want to worry about adding cost for an externally balanced vibration dampner, Flywheel, or flexplate. Also unless your doing a stroker crank, you are dealing with a...

Stock gauges Vs. After market gauges

I like the dash as well, very cool. I never went that direction in dash, but had alot of aftermarket gauges around steering wheel and below dash. A few years ago I purchased a new factory tach and vacumn plated my original cluster and got all the factory gauges working, and I really like the...
