1964 /6 pertronix installed NGK ZFR5N .40 gap remove metal gasket from plug remove is this correct????

I am changing my plugs and would like to know what spark plug, gap, I should use. Have installed pertronix,ordered new gaskets for plugs,it's a slant 6,1964. Thanks in advance

Thanks for all the advice,this engine has recently been overhauled,less than 19,000 miles on her,when I bought her,I had another valve job done to her because of the bad gas and old oil in her. So we gonna mess with timing and see if we can get her to run as smooth as a baby's butt.

Buddy of mine looked it up in his book,the factory setting is 2 1/2 degrees BTDC,maybe experience is better than the factory setting

Overhauling carb. Kit comes with 4 different measurments,1/4,5/16,7/32,9/32. Anyone know what measurment to set float at??? Thanks for any input

ok,so if you switch from 1 barrell to 2 barrell,do you have to change manifold? I have carb issues rite now(just posted my problems under early A body) . My carb sucks rite now and wanna go to a new one,64 Dart 225

I am not following you rug trucker on attaching line to carb the seat moves. Are you saying I may have the seat too tight or too loose???

thanks for all the input,I also thought about putting the original needle and seat back in. The accelerator pump really goes in one way and I can't see installing it wrong,but I am no carb expert,so I may be missing something. I will check tomorrow and see if any gas will pump into carb cold...

would that be because the needle and seat need some adjusting?

I guess in the morning I could unscrew the fuel line going into carb,and if no gas comes out that ,that should tell me I suppose?

Just rebuilt carb 1 barrell.Runs great except after sitting overnight,won't start unless I use starting fluid,then its just fine for the rest of the day. Any suggestions?? There is not a whole lot to this carb to mess up putting a kit in,but something is not quite right. Thanks:banghead:

How many qts does the tranney hold??? I need to change mine as it has been sitting up for 15 yrs. What about oil??? What are you guys using in your /6's?? This is my first /6 Thanks:blob:
