I wonder if Mike is still in business. I'm currently running a set of his lifters in my 408 along with the locking dip stick.

Well own one and wish I had purchased several. He also made hydraulic roller lifters.

There used to be a member here that sold small block locking dip sticks on this site. Does anyone have any information?? He was an engine builder also. Thanks Jeff

Also if you remove them to turn them they should be replaced. They are a slight interference fit. Once you install them they are sized. Some will disagree but you wouldn't want it to spin on you.

I'm thinking you did the same thing I did 40 some odd years ago. I had never had a 3 way timing set and installed it with the middle keyway instead of using the dot by the other keyway.

The 8553 are about 50 thousands of an inch thick. The 1008's are 39 thousands thick

You said you had one with a deep rotor cover. Years ago I think it was Milodon made a kit to make your pump a high volume model. It included a set of taller rotors and a cover that was thicker and was recessed for the taller rotor. I know I had one back in the late 70's.

I used the second one down for my stroker build.

Call Mike at MRL and see what he recommends. I'm using a Lunita roller I purchased from him. Made over 500hp on the dyno with dished pistons and eddy heads. Ran 11.72 in a street dart thru the mufflers.

I'm using the Indy 1.6 rockers on my 360-1's and haven't had to much trouble with them.

Many years ago I used one of those 3 keyway timing sets. Unfortunately I misread the marks and installed it in the 4 degree retarded slot. Car would barely run.

All small block distributors should be the same. I've never heard of any that were longer.

Do the pistons come up above the deck surface of the block?

I wonder if the heads have been milled? If they have you might have to have the intake milled to match. Maybe the manifold wasn't fully machined correctly from Eddy.

Use a break in oil such as Brad Penn oil.

Wix 51085 also works. I run them on all my small block and v6 mopars.

Get a ball bearing the diameter of the cup of the push rod. Place it in the cup and measure the whole length. Then subtract half of the ball diameter.

I talked to my builder who told me that they weren't very street able at all.

Look like repops to me. To smooth for factory castings.
