what I use is a fuel pressure switch a rpm activated window switch a progressive controller and a timing retard like a msd start and step also a bottle heater is a good idea with a temp switch but I tend to be on the safe side .

interesting i never seen one of these before thanks . i thought there would be more guys running a timing retard without being locked out that would give up how it works for them .

i have a msd 6al with the msd billet distributor with no VA and want to run a timing retard , and was looking at the msd 8987 but it says to lock out your timing which i do not want to do. can i run it with my mech advance if not is there another setup i can use ? MSD 8987 Start and Step Timing...

i have an eddy headed stroker at 10.03 to 1 with 250@50 cam and to be able to run 32 degrees timeing on 91 oct i need to run the the coldest plug i can get RN9YC if i run a 10 it will detonate . this is just my experience nothing written in stone .
