Hmm
To convince me the intake is junk ?
I think I'll take my chances.
I waited for almost a year when I got mine.
The funny part is I almost said forget it.
Thankfully I was patient.
No hurry on my part .
Yes shipping I'm sure is like everything else in our communist controlled country.
I'd be willing to take one for the team, just to get the comparison out there in real life.
I'm pretty sure the small block Victor heads will flow well enough for your goal.
But it seems like they are very expensive when you add the rockers ?
I'm surprised more people don't use them ?
So I've shared this before.
Here is another 340 with edelbrocks ported by IQ52.
Once again they flow well and the car pulls hard.
Thanks Jim !
Jim and Cody did impeccable work !
Glad that Jim shares on here.
This is my brother's car.
The heads were some j heads that IQ52
Ported for me and put 2.02 valves in
I ended up changing directions.
We thought it was good for his car to appear stock.
Let me tell you those heads flow and that car pulls !
Thanks Jim
I thought I posted pics of it here once ?
I had some w2 heads and intake that had a bunch of work as well.
I remember popsicle sticks with epoxy on the bottom .
I sold that setup to a friend.
So I have an old portosonic intake that's had extensive work .
I got it from my neighbor who was a super stock racer .
He said it was a couple tenths faster then the touted ld340.
^^^^^
Well that is subjective.
Depends on combo and desired use.
The best for all out racing maybe so with high rpm and total track car with right combo.
Otherwise there are better options.
Cost and bang for buck this day and age I'd just go aluminum.
Sure anything can run.
As stated if they are 2.02 and in decent shape then run them.
If not you will spend more money to have less power.
Plus aluminum saves a few pounds.
If you are rebuilding the motor.
I would change cams.
You can always have the cam reground
Get new lifters as well.
Then you can match springs with the new cam , as well as pushrods.
In the end you will know exactly what you have.
I have had 1 stock 72 340 that was a factory forged crank and another that was cast.
So as stated it could have had either depending on date and or assembly plant.
My Cuda is a 72 340 4 speed.
Has a 70 wing and early style center caps.
I like the 72 stripe better then the 73-74 as well as mentioned the 72 does not have the extended bumpers or huge guards.
I have personally seen a 67.baracuda in stock form run low 12' with a 360/380.
The car was even a stick.
So as already stated something is drastically wrong with your car.
Plus 3400 lbs for an abody is super heavey.
My 70 340 4spd weighed 3240
