727 won't shift back to first

Is the kickdown lever stuck back? Is it returning to the front when letting off the gas? Make sure your kickdown is setup correctly. If you're using a cable, like a Lokar cable, you may need to add a light return spring down at the lever. I saw this exact symptom on a transmission where the...

    trying to keep her cool

If you use 5/16" fuel line (hard line) like I did, the fitting flared onto it is a 1/2-20 inverted flare. These will work for both your radiator and transmission, assuming they're stock: GAR-48IC5X2 1/8 NPT to 1/2-20 Inverted Flare 5/16 Hard Brake Line Brass Adapt | eBay 1/8 NPT to 1/2-20...

    Lokar kickdown linkage issues

This is classic with Lokar cables. IMO their kit is incomplete. It lacks a correct length and clocked kickdown lever, a light return spring for down at the kickdown lever, and a more sturdy mounting bracket at the transmission. I really wish at the very least they'd include a correctly clocked...

    Lokar Help

    1. Transmission kickdown return. Because of the cable design it can get "bound-up" from 1 cause or another (stressed cable, not enough spring action in the kickdown lever, etc) and delay returning when letting off the gas, or get hung-up and not return all the way. If this is happening you can...

Lokar kickdown and KD lever length

I have the shortest lever on my car and it isn't right, I had to modify it. My carb is an Edelbrock though. EDIT: Or am I missing something? Is there an even shorter aftermarket kickdown lever? If so that would be awesome. Hopefully someone can chime in.

Lokar kickdown and KD lever length

yes anything that allows greater range of motion would work for adjustment

Lokar kickdown and KD lever length

You can also get it ballpark at the transmission lever and make an adapter at the carb for some finer adjustments if that's easier.

Lokar kickdown and KD lever length

Yes but it will take some trial-and-error. You might want to drill a few holes so after you get it hooked up and test drive you have additional adjustments if needed. You will also most likely want to add a light return spring down at the transmission lever

Lokar kick down cable mod to raise shift points!

Set the Lokar adjuster on the carb so at WOT the lever is all the way back on the transmission. At this adjustment you may find that the shift points are too high at light/normal throttle. Back off the Lokar adjuster in VERY small increments until you achieve the correct shift points at...

    74 Dart Vibration

I'm not sure what to do in your situation. When I had the machine work done on my 360 I gave them the crank, harmonic balancer, and the cutout fly wheel for balancing. I had them balance that entire rotating assembly. That way it's compatible with any neutrally balanced converter. My best...

727 Trans cooler line. Top or Bottom ??

If you have any type of seal problem for drain-back, which is common, you want the pressure line from the transmission (front fitting) going to the bottom port on the cooler. That way after shutoff fluid won't drain back into the transmission and have to re-circulate after startup, resulting in...

    904 to 727 conversion crossmember

727 is tougher but takes more HP a well built 904 will be fairly tough but is better for racing. Most people here push 904's due to this. Me, personally, it's just a driver so I went with a 727.

    Transmission cooler line help

To make it easy on yourself you can just use a flaring tool and put an inverted flare on the line, same as your fuel line. Use these fittings for the transmission and the radiator (if both are stock) GAR-48IC5X2 1/8 NPT to 1/2-20 Inverted Flare 5/16 Hard Brake Line Brass Adapt | eBay

    Speedometer cable 64"

I need a new speedometer cable for my 71 dart, the current one is done for. I measured the cable and it's approx 64" long. This is the same cable that was in the car when it had a 904 so it is the stock cable. It has the larger 7/8" end on it that goes to the transmission and the plastic push-on...

    727 Kickdown

The Bouchillon kickdown is the way to go. I currently use Lokar and have used it on several cars. A couple things of note with Lokar. Make sure you're using the shortest kickdown arm on the transmission, there's many of varying lengths. If you have one of the longer arms you can drill a new...

    727 having a few issues

The shudder happens in D or R when just barely starting to move. I will try it in manual low. The shudder isn't related to the brakes at all. I have front disc.
