Shell Rotella lowered their zinc levels significantly a few years ago and it's not a great option anymore.

The Moroso gaskets leaked like crazy for me. Stock valve covers stock heads. I even made a post about it. Those gaskets are really made for a machined surface head. I wouldn't use them otherwise. And at the very least i'd still seal them to the valve covers.

check for exhaust leaks many ways to do this, search youtube my choice way to even find small leaks is shove a hair dryer or shop vac (in reverse so it blows) into your exhaust pipe when engine is cold feel around to see if there's any air coming out where manifold meets head or elsewhere...

I did not like how that adjuster was screwed directly into the grommet/gasket. Was just odd. Had movement also. I added a stainless steel washer to both sides and it made it much firmer.

Do you have a mechanical or electrical pump? The easiest thing to do to truly see if it's bad gas is to stick the line into a can of good gas and run it for a few minutes and see if it clears up.
