What is the best material, how thick, what shape, what holds it in place? Fotos? I heard they burn through after a time. Is that true? What's the best aftermarket supplier? Thank you

Get some stainless steel sheet metal, 28 to 24 gauge. Cut it so it's about 1/8 to 1/4" " bigger than the opening in the intake manifold. Carefully glue it to the intake manifold with RTV. Sandwich it between the intake gasket and the manifold, and bolt down the manifold. An easier way is to get some intake gaskets that do not have the hole like Fel Pro #1213S3. These will work because they have a steel core.

Even with the steel core gaskets I know some people say they can "burn through". In certain cases I guess it could be true but I've never seen it personally. To be safe just add a piece of SS like @69_340_GTS said.

Why not just buy a gasket with that has that part blocked off already???

I used to cut pieces off if cheap tool kit boxes and just rtv them over the cross over and throw the gaskets over'em.

Just don't use a beer can or it WILL burn through.
