    What am I looking for?

There are shoes and a clip under that seal and plate, in that small retangular shaped cup. Its filled with grease and the shaft just slides into it. If the shaft is moving up and down an inch or so the problem is in your steering column. Either the clip in the shaft is not in place( under your...

    Wheel bearings

I wouldn't call them tap out but they can be removed and reinstalled with a hammer and a pin punch.

power steering pitman and idler arm on Manual

I put a Flamming River manual box on my car, that had P/S, and the pitman arm went right on the manual gear. I did'nt change anything other than the gear box and the joint on the steering column shaft.

    AlterKtion Set Up

My opinion would be that the distance on the threads is a mute point. What matters is that the car sets level from side to side. I would be measuring from the floor to the underside of the wheel opening at wheel center point, and making them equal side to side. Just my 2 cents.

I believe pre 74 to 67 are interchangeable. 66 and earlier are different.

Did some work, now steering pulls by itself

Heres the problem, the little thing you took off the steering gear needs to be centered. This can be done by having everything hooked up and tight, start your engine. Now the two bolts that hold that part to the gear need to be just cracked loose a little!! Take a hammer and tap that hold...

    Slack in steering shaft

Forgive me, I am so confused. The steering shaft doesn't go any where near the steering pump. If you have a lot of in and out movement (pulling in and out on the steering wheel) the problem is probable in the steering shaft. One of Chryslers answers to a calapsible steering column for saftey was...

Grooves in the pavement are BAD for my Dart

Play in a power steering gear can be adjusted (tightened) just like a manual box, to a certain extent unless its very worn.

Grooves in the pavement are BAD for my Dart

A few things come to mind. Are you runing radial tires on the back as well? Mixing them with bias ply can have adverse handeling problems. How much play is in your steering gear? If it loose it could cause the problem. How much play is in your pitman arm and idler arm? Excessive play in either...

    Ball joint separator

You can use a fork to get the pitman arm out of the center link.

    Ball joint separator

You are aware the upper BJ's screw into the arms, not pressed in. They require a special socket but a pipe wrench will work. You'll probably have to apply a little heat to the control arm if the joints look rusted in.

    Ball joint separator

Its going to be another fork like the one used for tie rods only larger. Are replacing the ball joints, or just removing the spindle?

    Motor Mounts

Are you trying to replace the whole mount, or are the bushings just shot? The mounts look like the same ones I have on my 440 67 cuda. I just bought and installed new bushing in the steel mount, got them from Summit.
