Short update. .. looks like i'm going with a Custom-Made Whiplash cam from HughesEngines as i'm the very first one ( as Dave from Hughes wrote me) asking for a whiplash to put in a 273. They 've never made one before and would like to do a Custom Grind for me.

Yepp, it causes headache ... but i think i got thepoint behind it... Unfortunately it's very complex to do those calculations and AJ/FormS deserves my greatest respect. Thanks foor showing me that the 340 cam wouldn't fit. Maybe i will simply take the 318 stock cam but it would also be...

normally - they don´t have a look, but sometimes they do... the problem then will be (or in case of an accident) i get serious issues because the German TÜV will hand over a note to the German IRS and they will get me hooked for tax fraud and also the insurance company will try to get hands on...

dont know if you all got me right (maybe my German-English leads to the wrong conclussions) - the head job was allready done some years ago ... and these 318 heads are the heads i will use just because it´s the only set that i have laying around (and i´m not willing to purchase another set -...

one of the reasons is also the legal aspect here in Germany - the Barracuda is registered as an "historical vehicle" which gives special permissions like driving in restricted areas (emission control, pollution etc) and also we will have a significant advantage when it comes to taxes - 192 EUR...

again i´m into throwing a 273 together (as my wife complained that the fish was to rude and not really driveable in normal traffic with the beefed up Magnum motor) so decision were made the Magnum has to go and i will stick it into my Dodge D100 Truck next year. so here are my plans i wanted...

    340 iron or Airgap-(knock-off) intake on 273 ?

@360duster - Silvia was complaining that the 5.2 was way to aggressiv (it rev´d up pretty fast to 7000 RPM with the regrinded cam and the 3,91 gears), and i´m just thinking to get back to a simple streetable car. i also thought about replacing the rod and the crank and going on with the...

    340 iron or Airgap-(knock-off) intake on 273 ?

hi there, it´s been a long time that i posted something here... as the magnum engine in my 1965 Barracuda suffers from a spun rodbearing and my wife allways complained that she was affraid to drive the light car with that engine. Also it was a bit tricky with short gears and aggressive...

weird oil leaking rear main seal or oil pan arch - maybe PCV valve

yes it´s running better than expected, maybe the 3,91 rear end is a bit short now (had to play with the kick down adjustment to get it driveable on German streets, as it mostly resulted in uncontrolled wheel spin, when hitting the pedal at the wrong rpm/speed) but it makes a lot of fun...

weird oil leaking rear main seal or oil pan arch - maybe PCV valve

short up date on this issue: i checked all the bolts on the oil pan - all were tight also checked the oil filter adapter plate - dry so i checked and corrected the oil level - was nearly 3/4 quart to much oil in it. done that, and it seems like the problem is solved now.
