    1958 Dodge

I completely agree, and also completely disagree. I have spray guns and multiple compressors, and I've prepped and painted a few cars. The painting is the easy part, prepping takes weeks/months. The guy who took all the trim off, not the po, took a DA sander and destroyed the finish, gouging...

The plan is to dive into this car within the next few months. Someone posted a comment on the youtube that it reminded them of a 50s nascar. I was surprised when I realized, over time, this comment has sunk deep into my brain. Found 2 pics today of what I believe is a 57 D-501, hardtop no...

    AFTERMARKET SHIFTER HANDLES

Hurst replacement for 67 a-body bench seat, did not come from the factory in any year. Iirc, replacement for 64-67 Inland bench. In the car when I got it, shorty, black face ball is slightly larger than full white ball, best Hurst I've ever had.

WHERE DID U PUT UR AFTERMARKET STEREO & SPEAKERS

Bluetooth receiver, no cd, mounted under dash, boat antenna mounted behind dash, it's just a wire, homemade kickpanel speakers made from drywall containers, old home stereo speaker boxes in back modified for 6x9, fastback. No amps, loud and clear. Speakers in trunk divider opens then up for...

Each column is numbered on the bottom 1-80. The last 3 before the control number are 68/69/70, so the last 3 codes would be: 689 EXPORT/DLR. Found pics of my old high school car, out in the sticks were I grew up. 1957 210, GM Performance crate 350/330hp, Muncie 4 speed, posi, Impala SS bucket seats. Did everything myself on the cheap, car was a burnout beast. A friend worked at GM, got me that performance crate 350 for $1,100...

    Best Drop Hitch?

Agreed. Found this Class 5, appears to be lower than the bumper, reducing the drop hitch I would need, and both the truck and receiver are an upgrade. Many pics from their website with different make/models, this one looks like a similar year Dodge...

    Best Drop Hitch?

Great question. In retrospect should start there. For my own info, on my 08 Silverado I had a Curt receiver, 4 bolts into threads in the box frame, 2 bolts into threads in the bumper: Class III 2 Inch Hitch 6000 lbs GTW Visible Cross Tube 600 lbs TW 10000 lbs WD GTW 1000 lbs WD TW The hitch is...

    Best Drop Hitch?

B&W largest drop is 9" and the shaft appears to be box not solid. Weigh Safe largest is 10" and aluminum. With a 3" body lift and a suspension lift, neither are even close. My 3" drop is solid steel, am I crazy for being unsure about box and aluminium?

    Best Drop Hitch?

Looking for recommendations for a good drop hitch brand/maker. For my car trailer with my rust bucket 2008 Silverado, I had a 3" drop hitch, considering with a loaded trailer the suspension will roughly drop an inch. My new acquisition is a giant lifted 1984 Ram and needs a much longer drop...

Street Freaks, Customs, Rods, Street Machines...60's 70's 80's

That's what I found remnants of on my 67, white paint on the rear, springs, and even the spare tire well. I thought the white on the spare tire well was overspray, as it had been spray bombed black after. What is the extent of the white paint, how far does it go on the underside of the floor? I...

Day 2 rules! When I picked up my '67 all those years ago, it had the Superior 'The 500' wheel, Hurst shifter, license plate, traction bars, and the rear and springs were white. I also recall remnants of white on the spare tire section, thought is was probably overspray. I found the 'Cuda...

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

I have looked, and we are probably talking the same thing here, different language, or whatever it's called. Broadcast sheet has more codes, however it all comes from the IBM card. I like the details, and my understanding is the IBM card/data feeds everything to the broadcast sheet and fender...

    IBM Card 1971 Duster 340

My understanding is the IBM build card came first, then the broadcast sheet and fender tag. IBM card has everything a broadcast sheet has, and more, except for part numbers listed at the bottom under the two BUILD CODES sections, such as the Torsion Bar #s. The fender tag cannot fit everything...

    News from Stellantis Historical-IBM cards

I was told it would be $45 when I ordered mine back in 2008-ish, they never cashed the check and when I called back she said we do not charge anymore. The buildcard is more accurate than the buildsheet or fender tag, and can hold more data than the fender tag and buildsheet, although the...

Very similar years, from the obvious, tail lights and # of headlights, to not so obvious, 57 dash vents turn, 58 are fixed. Part of the reason finding a 58 windshield was difficult, 58-59 conv/2&4 hardtop and 57 conv only. The 2 tone paint schemes were different, as noted already. Both years...

    News from Stellantis Historical-IBM cards

Up to and including 1967 you can send in proof of ownership and they send you a terrible copy of a copy of the microfiche IBM build card used to create the Buildsheet and fendertag. They used to include a letter that 'decodes' most of the items, including Region and Dealer, not sure if that...

    1958 Dodge

Definitely needs a sanding, how this happened we'll never know, it looks terrible. The goal is to strip it, and get it in primer, in 1 color! Fix the minimal body issues, then shortly after, do a homegrown diy paint job in as close to the original colors as possible. The end game is to get the...
