Didn't some Mopars come with no gasket between the exhaust and head?

I had the same issue, I placed a washer over it and hammered a nut on the stud. Then I welded the nut to the broken stud, put a wrench on it and out it came!

I had bad smelling exhaust, turned out to be bad gas, (long story, many items checked/replaced/modified). I now only use the highest octane, and I stay away from no name gas stations.

Is the slant 6 good on gas? Are there any common mechanical issues? I was also wondering if 71s had shoulder belts as more than an option. It looks like the bronze color I saw in the paint chips, looks cool.
