    my experience with 7 1/4 rear end. if you put a shift kit in the trany do NOT make it bang in to 2 gear hard. keep the light spring in the servo. it will knock the spider gears out. well even my 84 mild 318 rear only lasted 80,000 miles start saving money for a 8 1/4.
