    Your first mopar...?

1962 Plymouth Fury III my dad says he brought me home from the hospital in it. This is not my car, but it looked just like this, same color, 4-door, 318 poly, push button automatic. My dad was a farmer, he never got rid of anything. He parked it with 185K on the odometer. It sat in a pasture...

Anybody want a 426 max wedge, this is for sale in Boise, and no, not me

Hey Del, you still got that “too short” frame and a couple of those truck axles? I think you could build another truck, put this engine in it and call it “The Killer Whale” I’m looking forward to seeing a new thread on the build!

    Let’s call them window sliders

Someone should be able to 3D print these sliders for very little cost. If someone was really good with design, they could tweak the size to make them actually work. Charging $125 for a window “kit” when all you need are the sliders is highway robbery!

Did they make 5x4” axles for 8 3/4 rear ends?

Your builder said he’d swap the axles for SBP, do you know if the new SBP axles will have the correct offset for your backing plates. If you plan on using your 7 1/4 rear end backing plates it better have the SBP or the backing plates will not work.

    Mopar Motor Pop Quiz

I had a cracked cylinder in my 273, got water in the oil and smoked the #3 main so bad it broke the forged crank completely in half. I was going 70 down the highway when this happened. So my guess is the #3 main.

It’s a little hard to see but if you’re talking about the one that goes over the hood, top and trunk, it looks like it is.

Good Parts that Gave their Lives in Battle

Didn’t know I had a cracked cylinder in my original 1967 273. Coolant leaked into the oil, driving 75 mph on the highway, smoked the main journals and wound up breaking the #3 main off the block when it broke the crank.

    Placement question

On my 67 Barracuda, the pics of the paired holes jonn6464 shows, uses this little plastic strap. The loops you have - on my car hold the horn wires where they’re coming from the alternator. And my car only uses one loop.

    "heavier truck" question...........

    "heavier truck" question...........

Del I know when my dad was farming we had two Dodge grain trucks, probably late 60’s models, that had (if I remember correctly) five speed transmissions. They also had two speed axles with the big red button on the gear shift. I know they were geared low, I’m not sure we ever had them much...

Lifting engine block with a hoist?

I usually just thread a couple of bolts through the lifting chain into the head bolt holes. If your chain is too small for those size of bolts any of the bolt holes in the front of the block for the water pump would work too. A bare block really doesn't weigh that much. But in my experience...
