Just finished 65 Dart 1991 5.2 Magnum swap for4-Speed, carbureted. let me know if you have issues with alternator hook,up you need the 70's voltage regulator. And little wire change among
field wires. I pulled some hair out.....

Had one of those all in one china distributors.
That was enough.
Normal street driven fine.
Couldnt set timing properly. High rpm
breakup.
Hard hot restart.
Finally module burnt.
Ok now Im getting pissed.
Jumped New VR alt. charging. Great.
Wired as is no charge. Test light from Battery + to VR housing 12 volts?????????
:BangHead:
Even put jumper wire from Bat.- to VR housing????????
Also another issue.....
had old style reg. which burnt out ecu.
zbut was charging.
now aftermarket proper 2 terminal
reg. no charge?
Was told aftermarket regs. garbage.
gotta be be reg?

Thanks Dave
Getting to point of running original
harness to magnum 5.2.

wondering any relocations of starter relay
and others and proper alternater/ignition

Thanks in advance

Can I use (initially) exhaust manifolds. Going to try to install engine 4spd trans soon.
Seems like stock magnum exhaust manifolds in way of driverside motor mount?
Please inform what may be necessary.....
Thanks dave
I just found out you can get a bronze bushing that is OD less to get through the unmachined crankshaft?
Don't know what to do but I'll probably just go with the actual bearing insert instead to be safe.
D.
Now I understand what you are saying.
Got bronze pilot bushing. Insert it in crank pilot hole it hits a ridge, not reamed deep enough to OD size of bronze bushing!.
Unfortunately, Guess I got to go with register bearing setup...........
Seems deep enough not to have to cut end of shaft...
Keeping serpentine pulley setup and brackets. Cut off part of bracket that holds PS.
Thinking of moving idler and belt tensioner pulleys to the now void area on driver side to even out belt setup in front of engine. Think it'll look like /6 if I don't.lol
Has anybody done this or something...
Im looking at Comp Cams CCA-20-745-9 .480 lift
Can I get away with same springs for basically stock motor/ manual trans street use?
Appreciate the response......
Thanks, Dave
