Rear axle brake line toooo short???

I ordered my tranny lines from fine lines. Hope they come through right. These people who do the internet orders seem to only know part numbers. If a part number came up on their screen as a cow, they will tell you it is a Mopar Part?

Rear axle brake line toooo short???

Funny. I just found and checked the package. It is marked for an 8 1/4" rear end. Seems somebody sent the wrong "right stuff"? I just ordered from fine lines. Hopefully they will ship Fine Lines stuff and it will be RIGHT????

Rear axle brake line toooo short???

My car has the original rear end in it. But what I don't understand is that the rear end line set was bought as a set? So if the passenger side line was two inches too short, it would seem that the drivers side should have been two inches too long??? But it appeared to fit fine??

Rear axle brake line toooo short???

Just tried to install the rear axle brake line set. The drivers side piece seemed to fit pretty good but when I layed the passenger side piece up over the 8/3/4" hump into the clip the arc of the line fit the arc of the rear end perfect. Only problem is that the line is about 2" short of...

EBrake over or under gas line??

Does the Ebrake cable go over or under the gas line under the passenger front floor where that tightening rod is? Makes sense to me the cable should be under or closer to the street? I don't want to create any rub issues for that fuel line?

    72 Demon park brake lever

I am trying to put my park brake lever back in my car. It appears I have about four parts. One is a small bracket (square C shaped) and I can see where it gets a tab rotated through a slot in the frame and it has a nut and through bolt with it. In the book, they call it a clamp. The other is...

    Brake power or non power?

Anybody else fooled with this setup. I am leaning toward manual master, as I have no brackets or support brackets for a power booster as my car had all manual drums. I did get a disc drum proportioning valve from the dude that sold me the calipers and spindles.

    Stainless braided brake lines

Anywone use the Allstar Performance Stainless braided brake line kits to plumb their front disc brake conversions. I had to swap calipers side for side because of my front sway bar and am looking at a part number 42027 braided line kit says for a big GM. It has a banjo fitting and bolt. The...

    Brake caliper help?

I am changing over the 72 Demon from drum to disc front brakes. I odered calipers from a 75 Dart Sport and I had to located them on the rear of the disc due to clearance issues with a factory installed sway bar which I do not want to compromise. I swapped the calipers sdie for side so the...

OK, I am done, I hope PICTURES

Here are the pictures to show what I am talking about. The 1973-76 calipers for a Dart are these shown. Look at where the hose connections face toward when I swapped sides with them to install on the rear because of the sway bar? The hose connection is looking directly at the top ball joint...

OK, I am done, I hope PICTURES

I had another mopar geru tell me that if I ordered say 1980 dodge diplomat calipers rather than the 1976 Dart ones, that the bleed points actually look at the top but more importantly they hose connections actually look into a better angle with the connection brackets on the 72 Demon and then I...

    Brake power or non power?

Hello, My Demon 340 car came with drim brakes all around. The brake master cylinder area was empty when I got the car. If it had drums all around, can I assume it was standard (non-power brakes)? I have upgraded to the LBP front discs and the larger rear drums for 15" wheels. My motor build is a...

    Caliper question

OK, I have them correct with the bleeder up top. I was just curious when I look at the inlet where the rubber hose attach to, It appears to be only about 2 inches away and looking right at the upper ball joint knuck on the spindle. Is that hose going to make that bend ok or does it have a 90...

OK, I am done, I hope PICTURES

Ok, I am just about done. Abody 72 Demon. Swap drum brakes for BBP disc brakes using 76 and up parts. Car had a OEM front sway bar so we mounted the calipers on the rear. I think what everyone is talking about regarding the bleeders is hopefully in the correct position. Without being...

    Caliper question

I have a Raybestos RC4103 caliper. It is describes as a front left caliper. I am installing it on a conversion 72 Demon. I already installed the spindles and located them so the calipers face the rear as I have a factory sway bar and it appears these will hit the brackets which are located at...

    rear brake photos.

Does anybody have some good clear pictures of the rear 10" x 2 1/2" rear brake install regarding the spring routing and ebrake setup. I know the longer shoe goes to the rear. The ebrake cable comes through the front of the backing plates. I have the ebrake actuator arm attached to the front...

    10" rear backing plates??

I think my dumb mind gets it now. I am still waiting for the Dr Diff axels to arrive. I was not doubting what 72bluNblu shipped me. I was just trying to find out what prevents one from not working. I find I better understand things that way. Actually 72bluNblu was a good guy to break up the...

    10" rear backing plates??

OK, I was just curious as to what prevents the 1 3/4" backing plates from not working on the 2 1/2" brakes when they are both 10"?? I guess I am always intrigued by this stuff. Just curious? Do you know what exactly prevents them from working?

    10" rear backing plates??

Are the 10: rear backing plates the same for the 1 3/4" drums/shoes as the 2 1/2" drums/shoes? I am assuming that since the Abody 8 3/4 only came with the small bolt pattern and the 1 3/4" brakes, that the backing plates I will need to use to install the larger axles and the 2 1/2" brakes will...
