SO, I restored an old F-100 Pick-up for my daily banger and tow vehicle. All well and good. BUT................ The 67 Cuda sat in the garage for about 2 months and wasn't started or run. It has a brand new carter carb, new tank and sender, new lines, new fuel pump, and the motor was just...

In 73, did the gas tank vent to a charcoal cannister?

We still had the canister, but it was gone on the inside.......Kept the hook-ups to the can, and opened up the top vents.....car ran great.

    carb spacers???

If it was just heat causing the problem, a carb spacer (black poly, not aluminum) will solve your problem. I've found a carb spacer works nicely to cool the carb/gas with or without the problem you mention........I wouldn't be without one.....1/2" works fine for most applications.

    carb whistle

My Holley 650 does the same thing........I use a Torker Intake and a 1/2" insulated riser........don't know if it has anything to do with it.......

    Quietest Electric Fuel Pump

Is that new Holley self contained, or does it take a separate regulator? I HATE my red pump. (Actually, it's my second red pump......the first one puked with less than 300 miles on it).

    Propane Injection

Don't know................ BUT, I'd like to see some information on a true propane carb conversion for a Mopar application............ I had one on a school bus we bought years ago, and it was the cleanest burning ting I've ever seen........there was a little valve to push for a "pre-shot"...

    Holley electric fuel pump

From experience, they work well WHEN they work........They are miserably undependable........and as the guys have said, they're noisy as Hades. Stay mechanical if you can................8)

    Fuel Pump Mounting

Mine is 1/4" below, and works fine........BUT, no filter before the pump....... ..........and I paid the price............Now the filter is in place......... ...........and so is a new pump.

Lowest Fuel Price you have ever paid?

21.9 was the usual in 71-72.........and a pack of Old Gold's were 35 cents........I could put in 5 gallons of gas and get a pack of weeds for around a buck and a half............. Except for the shape of my lungs, those were the good ol' days. 8)

    Isopropyl Alcohol

I had to use it religiously in NY, especially in my tow vehicle............ We ALWAYS got condensation in the tanks, and it was hard to keep them topped off all the time........and once in a while the stinking gas station would give you a nice shot of water too.......... Isopropyl was the...

    Water4gas

Well, if you use higher output electronics and parallel batteries, there shouldn't be a short term problem with the needed amperage for the generator coils.....If efficiency is increased by a better burn, and better HP is a result as with NOS (but on a much smaller scale), then gas should be...

    Water4gas

When you get down to the laws of physics and brass tacks, it's the same principle as adding NOS..........If you introduced ANY combustible gas with your fuel mixture, properly atomized, it has to have a positive effect relative to power output or gasoline savings....... The AMOUNT of that...

    Hard restart after hot

Mine just the same...........I just bought a 1" carb spacer (probably overkill....1/2" would probably do for heat insulation), and the steel line is almost touching a heater hose, and it WAS touching the block........not good. If there was one thing I learned early on, it was that "cool fuel"...

    Spits when Hot !

I have a mildly built 360, with what appears to be an older Edelbrock "Torker" or something...Edelbrock is in the old script....looks like a mild high rise.....Anyway, the Holley is setting directly on top with nothing but a gasket.......... Shouldn't this have a spacer to help insulate the...

    Dual Scoop Air Cleaner

I've seen that air cleaner you spoke of........it was a custom designed ram-air set-up with dual hoses running from the grille area........(if it's what I think).........and I THINK there's a company that MAKES these kind of custom cleaners........... There's a link here I...

    Fuel Line Options!!

I have a miserable vapor locking problem on my 360 4BBL........Really hot weather right now, and the former owner just cobbed a fuel line together......runs within a quarter inch of the stinking radiator hose....... I don't care too much about looking exactly stock with this.......what would...
