    Prop valve question

I read it somewhere, a pro touring forum I think but don't remember. Like I said, "supposedly". I didn't give it much credence since mine is mounted way further back than that and many folks are mounting their's virtually right next to the m/c with no apparent problems.

    Prop valve question

Ideal distance is supposedly 18" down line from the master. That said, I don't think it makes a huge difference. Mine is located further back and the knob sticks through the floor next to my seat. It allows me to adjust on a the fly if needed.

    Lokar Hand Parking Brake

my old Dodge D400 had a hand lever parking brake mount roughly where the pull handle is on A bodies. The neat thing about it was that it had an adjuster on it, just a twist cap on the end of the handle, that was pretty sweet. It looked kinda clunky hanging from below the dash, but mounted...

    Brake Prop Valve

I read someone's directions that recommended mounting the prop valve approximately 18" down line from the master. That didn't stop me from putting mine further back, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Mine's plumbed to come through the floor between the seat track and rocker so I can adjust...

    Master cylinder help in Hawaii

you might be able to use an OE master from a Dakota, they're the smaller two bolt size.

    Real-world improvement,or just cool looks?

245/45-17 all around, 1.06" T bars, they were on the car when I ran my old brakes too.

    Real-world improvement,or just cool looks?

If you say so, all I know is that there's a stupid old asian lady somewhere in Honolulu right now that is still alive to ponder her mortality because I was able to stop VERY quickly after she decided she wanted to go across the street without considering that there may be an element of danger in...

    Real-world improvement,or just cool looks?

I have the same setup as yours except I'm using first gen Viper calipers with EBC red pads. BIG improvement over the stock 73-75 discs.

    Viper brakes 73 dart

for the 13" rotors? if so, whats their worth? I'm thinking they won't work with th early Viper calipers.

    Viper brakes 73 dart

I got my kit with the idea to upgrade to the 13s at a later date using the same calipers and lines. just need to spring for about $900 worth of rotors and brackets from ARE.

    Viper brakes 73 dart

I think your weight savings will be in the rotors, not calipers. the base kit like I have uses factory 11.75 rotors which are really heavy. If you upgrade to the 13" rotors, you'll save quite a bit of weight. The viper calipers aren't much lighter than stock, if at all. -pauly

the link above states "late model" not 2nd gen.

    Viper brakes 73 dart

pretty sure the later (red) calipers are only used on the 13" kit. ..website seems ok to me, newer look! http://arengineering.com/

Andy is all over the Moparts board, you can usually find him in the "corners are best forum". You might try to check with him there about his website. I have his 1st gen viper kit, it's awesome!

Ceramic Brake Pads on '73 up A Body

I have the EBC reds on the front with a Viper caliper conversion, they take a while to break in but they are very good pads. On the back I have a b-body rear with 11x2.5" drums running shoes from these guys... http://musclecarbrakes.com/

Anyone ever eliminate the prop valve?

I'd do what you suggested in the original post. sounds like you have all the right parts, especially the 15/16" master to keep the pedal feel reasonably soft. This topic was discussed indepth at bigblockdart, sorry i can't provide the link, I lost my password. something else you might want to...

Anyone ever eliminate the prop valve?

That's what I'm running too with 11.75" discs in front and 11x2.5" drums out back. I plumbed the prop valve so it emeges through the floor between the drivers seat and the rocker... I can adjust it on the fly. I use a 2 lb. (maybe 10, I can't remember) inline residual valve just behind the prop...

EBC Brakes, Anybody use them before?

Took me about a day to quit chucklin about it when I first saw it.

EBC Brakes, Anybody use them before?

I sourced some slotted/vented rotors from ebay, the wheels are from a Cobra R, 1999 I think but not positive.

EBC Brakes, Anybody use them before?

I've got EBC reds on viper calipers on my car, big improvement over the 11.75" setup that was on the car before. I like them but they do dust up a little.

    Master Cylinder??

mine feels like power brakes with the car off, only they're not power brakes. My stiff pedal may be caused by the larger calipers I'm using, but after researching this subject i don't think so.
  29. pauly v.100

    Master Cylinder??

that is the MC that I bought and it provides a VERY stiff pedal. You're better off looking for an MC with a bore thats smaller than 1", say 7/8". that should give you a comfortable pedal feel.

    New Brake Bleeding

You're gonna need huge legs to push a brake pedal using a mc with that big of a bore. In the case of master cylinder bores, bigger is not better! As for bleeding, easiest way I've found is just use gravity. With the car level, set up your catch-can and crack the bleeder open. check the mc fluid...
