    RV2 AC compressor Rebuild help

I don't mean to high jack this thread, but does anybody know if the front ball bearing can be replaced on a RV2 crankshaft without removing the compressor from the car? Thanks ahead time for the info.

    66 Dart 273 Radiator Hoses

The thermostat housing in the engine picture is correct for non A/C 273's. The Summit Dorman picture housing is for 273 engines w A/C. Nibble is canted toward driver side for compressor clearance. You already have the correct housing.

64 Barracuda Rebuild of old system Classic Auto Air

I'm not the A/C expert by any means, but I have a 65 A body with factory A/C and it does not have an EPR valve. I think all A-bodies from 65 to at least 67 had no EPR in the system. Not sure what makes the air compressor cycle on and off, but it does. Hopefully some of our experts will chime in...

So..I go to get my 65 Barracuda A/C charged....

This is a good as it can get.....Special kudos to Charlie S and slantsixdan for taking the extra time and effort help me out. My plan is to leave the EPR valve out of the compressor, cancel inserting another port on the low side fitting, print out all the replies to this thread and return to the...

So..I go to get my 65 Barracuda A/C charged....

I'm more confused now, but perhaps confusion leads to solutions. Here's why I'm confused and I must admit, automotive A/C is not one of my strong points....I'm 70 and still learning about cars. My experience with auto A/C is limited to work I've done on my 66 and 67 Chargers. Both of those cars...

So..I go to get my 65 Barracuda A/C charged....

I have posted a couple of pictures of the rear (low pressure side) of the compressor that shows only one discharge line (the large black hose). The second picture shows no Shrader valve located on the expansion valve line. I just happen to have a complete second factory A/C setup from a 65...

So..I go to get my 65 Barracuda A/C charged....

I took my recently restored 1965 Barracuda 273 with factory A/C to a reputable shop to have the system flushed and charged. The technician says .."there's something wrong here on your car...there is no low side Shrader valve at the rear of the compressor to attach the coolant gas coupling to"...

Upper molded radiator hose A/C 273 cars

Finding the correct upper radiator hose for an early A-body 273 w/factory AC is a challenge. The correct factory part number is 2465802...after a lot of trial and error, I finally concluded non of the so called replacement hoses from the parts houses would come close to working. I reluctantly...

Can't find a heater core that fits - 66 Barracuda

I replaced the heater core in my 65 Barracuda with a core made by Spectra bought at Autozone. It fit perfectly and I believe 65 and 66 are the same and both A/C and none A/C cars use the same core.

    Fan Clutch ID help

What's the diameter of the clutch body. ( 6" or 7 1/4"). My research shows 3462105 is for 70-72 A-body cars with 318/340 engines. It interchanges with part number 3462106 with the difference being the diameter of the clutch body. I think the Dodge truck line used some of these same part number...

Upper molded radiator hose A/C 273 cars

Does anybody know of a source for the upper molded radiator hose for a 65 Barracuda with factory A/C and 273 engine. I have a Gates #20168 hose that is supposed to fit, but it's a long way from a proper fit....almost unuseable. Thanks
