I have a '65 Barracuda that I just put new tires on. I went with 235/60-14s in the back & 215/60-14s in the front. There is plenty of clearance in the back, could have went with 245/60s. I am using stock Mopar Ralley wheels & I can't remember the exact back spacing, think it was around 4" +/-...

Did they make 13" rims with the large bolt pattern? I need a spare for my Barracuda now that I converted over & I would like one that fits in the spare tire well. I am having trouble finding a 14" tire small enough to fit. Thanks for any info.

I have 215/60-14s on 5.5" Mopar Ralleys. They are on the front of my '65 Barracuda. I think they look great. A reputable tire shop will tell you if the 225 is ok. They should have a chart that shows Recommended & Permitable sizes by rim width.

Not sure if they will rub or not since I do not have a Valiant but here is a link that you can use to put the stock tire size on one side & the new size on the other. It will tell you how much taller, wider & if it will cause problems along with how it will change your speedometer reading...

I just bought a set of 235/60/14s on 6" Mopar Ralleys. They fit great! I think it was the biggest size that was acceptable for 6" rims.

If I go 205/70 up front & 235/60 out back my front tire will be 0.3" inches taller than the back; not going to work for me. I finally stopped at a tire store locally that knew what they were talking about & had a reference book that shows recommended sizes & permitted sizes based on rim widths...

That helps a lot. I went to the Hoosier site & saw those tires. Those are pretty wide & recommended on 6"-8". I am going with the 215/60 in the front & 235/60 out back & crossing my fingers. Worst case I have to resell them with 100 miles on them & start over. Thanks guys for the help!

You should have more options since your rim is wider. You can run some wider tires than me on your car. The first gen Barracudas are limited as far as clearance for tires. The BF Goodrich Radial T/As are very common on muscle cars; that is what I am going with. Tirerack will show you what sizes...

According to this tire calculator that I like to use, 255s are the biggest tire recommended for a 7" rim. That being said, I do not know how hard/easy it is to find 255s if they are even made & they will only give you 0.4" more width & 0.5" more height. http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp
