What master cyl? That's some gnarly pressure.

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Yep. Mine has that exact block. Truly a distribution block. I'm going to gut mine as I don't really care for the warning light anyway. Should be able to just remove the "plug" from the bottom and.the guts will come out, right?

Got it. Makes sense. Just wanted to be sure we we're all talking about the same thing. @Kern Dog can you post a pic of your distribution block?

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Not sure that is related the "surface area" so much as it's related to caliper piston diameter front to back. With drums it's wheel cylinder size. What I'm not understanding is how 12" has more surface are than the 13" setup. Are the caliper pistons bigger on the 12" setup than the 13" setup?

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Since you have the tool, measure your pressure at each caliper. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.motortrend.com/how-to/avoiding-common-mistakes-how-to-make-your-street-rod-stop/amp/ Check out this article.

Members with 4 wheel disc systems: Can you lock your wheels?

Subscribed. I have Dr. Diff front discs 10.95 discs (73+ Abody) single piston and cobra rear 10.7 discs. I have drum dist. block and 15/16 MC. I have also felt braking wasn't "great" I've thought about gutting the distribution block.

Heads up to those that install a 2 bolt aluminum master cylinder.

I have Dr. Diff 15/16 master and the adapter. I've always thought, I needed a different rod, but Cass says no, sock rod works fine??

Interesting! I have always thought the same thing. My 4whl discs don't stop quite right. I'd be interested in what Dr. Diff has to say about this.

    Un even rotor/pad wear

Dang. Ok. I'll remove it and see if I can remount. I'll report back after the weekend, heading out on a camping trip.

    Un even rotor/pad wear

Not sure without taking the caliper off. They are the pads that came with the Dr. Diff kit.

    Un even rotor/pad wear

70Dart with Dr. Diff 73+ disc brakes. The pads don't look like they are clamping the rotor evenly. I also noticed that the single piston of the caliper doesn't sit in the middle of the pad back. (See pic) Not sure if I missed something upon install. Master is manual 15/16 from Dr. Diff and just...

Need help on front disc conversion 1972 swinger

What stock rims do you have? I have used scarebird before with factory 14" Rallye wheels. Not sure if the steel wheels clear. I'm sure their website addresses it.

Getting my *** handed to me.. these damm brakes

Do you need an adjustable push rod when you upgrade to a modern master with the 4 to 2 bolt hole adapter, due to the thickness of the adapter plate?

    4 Wheel disc, soft pedal

Could be due to the size of rear Pistons. I know Cass recommended no prop valve when using his disc setups. Of course they're smaller rears..

    4 Wheel disc, soft pedal

I don't think he is. I believe the first post said drum/drum distribution block

    4 Wheel disc, soft pedal

Oh gotcha. Yes, let us know the results. Are you getting the new one from Dr. Diff?
  24. plumkrazee70

    4 Wheel disc, soft pedal

I am leaning towards master cylinder being too small also. I believe the front calipers are 2.5" and if the rears are also, there's no bias between front and rear. I have 73+ front disc with Ford Cobra rear discs. The caliper bores are significantly smaller. And I use a 15/16 master.

    Rear disk conversion issue

I have rear discs in the dart. The fronts are 73+ A body single piston and the rear are 94 mustang Cobra csingle.pisyon calipers. The master is a 15/16 without a prop valve. All from Dr. diff. Disc brakes do take more volume to work. Since you have power brakes, step up to the next size MC and...
