so would there be any issues running a 4spd TQ on auto car?, i have the options of a 71 auto trans TQ, or a 72 manual trans TQ, im leaning towards the 72
360, 302 heads, 267/268,214/220,480/489 bullet cam,108 c/l plus 4 degrees adv ground in, air gap, headers, 3000 stall, 355s, 20 initial, all in at 34 with fbo plate, 13 vac at idle, turn in mixture screws and it goes up to 15
electric choke, fully opens.pcv worked fine with the smaller holley i had on before. throttle cable works fine. ive used this carb off and on over the last 2 years, always something with it.soon to be wall art i think
floats are spot on, fuel pressure is 4.5 as suggested, t slots are also correct.just fiddled some more, when air/fuel screws are all the way in,gently, vacuum increases.initial timing is 20, all in by 34
carb is running super rich at idle, can turn air/fuel screws all the way in and vacuum does not change at all. carb is untouched out of the box, ive read others have had this problem but never got a solution from those brand x sites. car goes like a hot damn but plugs are fouling and getting...
probably not eh, was just wondering about the vac passageways in the carb base, the front(pcv) seems to meant for primaries whilst the brake booster at back is routed to secondaries.overthinking it im sure!
just swapped 750 qf slayer for holley 750, according to instructions the qf rear port was pcv, the holley says rear vac port is for brake vac.would it be ok to run pcv off the rear brake vac port on the holley?, mostly for the ease of not rerouting everything
Well i put my finger under the end of throttle shaft and its wet.i can see the gap open and close on throttle blades when i move the throttle shaft side to side. On my 72 340 carb i can barely get any side to side movement6
Even so, i feel its a firetrap with the leaky primary throttle shaft and not impressed with choke not working.probably something simple there.not going to bother with it.expensive lesson but those are usually the best ones
Ive tried a modified per DC ld340(now hooped) and a holley strip dominator.leaks all around base, ive tried 2 types of thick gaskets. Carb is leaking fuel from primary throttle shaft, you can visibly see and feel it slide back and forth sideways, backfiring out of carb this morning and electric...
i did, at least the ones posted on summit and jegs. only reason im running this intake is i have a carter superquad being built for me, almost kicking my *** for selling my street dominator
that will work for now, will be digging into the blue seal part of gasket, biggest gasket port i could find is edelbrock at 2.3, not much bigger than the 2.27 felpro.not too impressed, oh well **** happens.maybe im overthinking it, just dont like the overlap top and bottom
so i matched up my fel pro 1213s today to strip dominator i purchased this winter, prev owner really hogged out top part of intake port, my gasket is about 1/8th inch into port opening.is there another gasket that has a longer port window than the felpro,or is there an epoxy i could put in there...
