Really depends on how nice and tight to the trans you want the floor to be, what kind of trans, how much you want the floor to intrude into the passenger compartment, etc......... In this car it was done with the trans in place because of the low ride height and I didn't want the tunnel...

I had that pan mocked up with the alterK on a BB. Much better ground clearance than the Milodon, which I originally bought. I never plumbed the lines on it, so I dont know about the clearance on those.

Put the motor in w/o the headers.....leave the motor on the hoist close to it's place and then sneak the headers in. Leaving the motor loose will allow you to move it around a little while you get the headers started.
