    1969 Barracuda Body Lean

Measure both sides. Look at your front end right height. Determine if you want to raise up the low side, or drop the high side. Also keep in mind if this has been a long term issue, you may have a broken torsion bar mount on the low side. There have been many that have found out the...

Tie Rod Ends Hitting Torrsion Bars????

When I had my engine out they were real close to touching. Once the weight was put back, everything cleared fine. I do use the C-body tie rod ends with a V8 '73 center link and large sector steering box.

How do I remove the Grant steering wheel?

Most wheels you have to pry the horn button off of them. They are pressed on a fiber circle that serves as the horn switch (there is a spring under the button). Then three screws or so and they come off... then you have to pull the Grant wheel adapter that is under the steering wheel. That...

    Some alignment help needed please.

When I took my Barracuda to my tire store for its alignment, I took the chart posted for the typ. street performance driving. Just out of curiousity, we went through the electronic menu and found that the oldest rear wheel drive mopar in the system (if I remember correctly, it was a 1985 Dodge...

Rear end gearing choice for stroker

Yes, with my mild build, larger cam (power higher up in the rpm), and 3.23 gears (power steering/A/C car), it doesn't have as much grunt down low as I expected. A better cam for lower rpm torque would have been better for my build. I'll be looking at maybe going to 3.55 or 3.91 in the future.

1967 Dart sway bars hitting brake caliber

It will look like this. You will most likely need the longer Volare brake lines to complete this. This is the right side shown.

    Wheel Noises

I say a couple of problems. The metal scraping at 10mph is most likely the brake pad scraper that announces when it is time to replace the brake pads. It is a little metal clip on the pad that scrapes the rotor as it turns. It only touches the rotor when you are due to do a brake job.. As...

Cutting strut rod bushings for correct geometry?

That's exactly how mine looks. Yours gets a little more abuse than mine does.

Cutting strut rod bushings for correct geometry?

Because you claim to have more common sense doesn't mean you do. At the time of the front end rebuild, there were no graphite poly bushings available for the 1968 Barracuda front end (only those thicker made bushings were available). The modification was done with precise measuring and...

Cutting strut rod bushings for correct geometry?

I cut mine when I rebuilt my front end.. It was pretty easy using a molding/trim saw and then cleaning it up on a flat surface with sandpaper. Then I cut the metal insert using a cutoff wheel so the nut would screw on enough to get the cotterpin in. I did it a little at a time to make sure I...

16 year old needs help with disc brake upgrade!!!!

If you have a digital camera, a picture would be worth a 1000 words...Are the 71 tie rod ends smaller than the 73? I wouldn't think there would be a problem there. Make sure you have the steering box centered (same number of turns to the right and to the left) before attaching the pitman arm...

16 year old needs help with disc brake upgrade!!!!

By the way, the pitman arm, idler, drag link, and steering box is unique to what year your car is. As you have discovered, the 73+ steering gear has a larger shaft then the 72 and below box. No mixing of parts will work here.

16 year old needs help with disc brake upgrade!!!!

If you are interested in retaining the original wheels for the car (4" bolt pattern), you will need to find a disc brake set up for your current model. If you are going to upgrade the front to 4.5" bolt pattern (talking about the circle spacing of the lugs) then the most economical upgrade is...

    Steering Column Paint

Maybe so. My car was originally white with that maroon column poking out.

    Steering Column Paint

Mine was the column color. The bracket that peeks through the hole is black. Paint was in good condition. Just touched up a few little nicks that I did when I tried to swap the steering box earlier.

    68 cuda column help

I was trying to locate my old pin since I converted my column over to a floor shift. I could not find it, however, I did take a good look at my column (still out of the car). It looks like there is enough meat there to maybe get a thread or two started with a tap and then JB Weld a short bolt...

    68 cuda column help

You are missing the little plastic rod that clips into that hole. Unless someone has an old column laying around, it may be really hard to find one. Being it is plastic, breakage is common occurrence. I assume you may be able to make something to stick out the hole. Could you possibly tap...
