Hi All, been a while since ive posted on here. my question today is does anyone know what guage the body panel are on a 72 scamp? got a new welder to test out and i need to know what base setting to start with by the chart it came with and for that i need to know what guage. thanks. Marc

i was thinking of doing the same thing on my 72, as well as mold them in but i was thinking maybe just cut out a strip of the brakets, if you can weld or know someone who can i feel like this is the easiest route imo. unfortunately i too am not sure of the braket swap. good luck finding that out.

i would brace it the same way as doing a top chop. before cutting anything weld in cross braces inside the car to keep it square then cut the top. make "X" 's with the braces on both side and on the back and front inside the passenger compartment. this should keep everything square while cutting...
