Failed heater core- '67 Barracuda small block, no A/C.

The original heater core went out in my 67 dart after about 40 years. Should of re cored the original one, on my 3rd parts store heater core at the moment. None of the parts store ones had the same look and fitment as the original, and I have tried different brands.

    Cooling with A/C on

You can run a pusher that is tied to the temp and/or comes on with a relay that is triggered by the a/c clutch. On mine, just went with the dual spal fan puller set up, but a lot of people are also using the dual fan found stock on I think it is a Ford Touras.

heater core in 1967 dart gt with a/c.

heater core is in a removable assy from the half the evaperator is located in. The heater core is the same, a/c or no a/c. It is easier to remove the glove box liner to get access to the nut that holds the halves together and the wiring connectors. Also behind the vent door has a J hook that is...

Why so critical of "universal" flex radiator hoses?

Everybody has standards, some more than others. like when i see a rat rod, if it is actually just some parts thrown together, not my cup of tea. But old parts put together so the outcome has good form and function but still looks "ratty", love it. All it takes is a little time and thought, and a...

Why so critical of "universal" flex radiator hoses?

I thought they like it ribbed.....

Why so critical of "universal" flex radiator hoses?

I guess some people have different standards than others, even on simple drivers car. No other option, maybe . But would rather have steel pipe between two pieces of hose than that ribbed s##t.

Why so critical of "universal" flex radiator hoses?

Was the guy in PJ's sporting a flexible hose? :poke:

Why so critical of "universal" flex radiator hoses?

When i see that type of hose, I think if they couldn't be bothered spending the time looking for the proper hose, what else did they do to the car that was not proper, short cuts, etc.

    Dual E-fans & Shroud

Wired my dual spal fans through two seperate relay's. first comes on with a 190 degree sensor, the second through a simple adjustable controller with a a/c switch also. I do wish they where curved blades instead of straight blade, when both are on can be a little loud, but have never had a...

    it fits MOPAR!

And it helps you fine tune your car? How, by reading the plugs through the coolant? telling air/fuel mixture by if the color is red or green? WTF !

    AC underhood component upgrade.

The factory rotary compressor from a mid 80's dodge pickup is a little larger in dia, so cut and welded it to match a standard aftermarket Sanden compressor. I think multiple V8 vehicles from the 80's would have the same compressor brackets. it mounts the compressor just to the passenger side of...

    AC underhood component upgrade.

I modified the factory rotary compressor mount bracket to fit a newer sanden compressor, easier for hoses since there is a lot of aftermarket support.

    67 Dart heater core removal

Thanks guy's, dropping out just the heater side of the assy worked very well, and using the 1/8 inch foam helped with replacing the old seals. Back together and working well. :blob:

Anyone from the New England area know...

Could also try Winkel Auto in Milford NH,603-732-1189. Gary is a Mopar friendly shop, salvage yard with lots of A body's and trucks. He used to hot tank radiators a couple of years ago, not sure because of EPA if he still does it.

    Hot at highway speeds

Since the car does not overheat at slow speed, radiator is cooling the engine with pump speed and airflow through radiator. Since it is not cooling at higher rpm and higher speed, makes more heat to cool, air flow through radiator not enough, because of air going around nose of car instead of...

    Hot at highway speeds

With the Dart being as aerodynamic as a brick, airflow does come into effect the faster you go.

    Hot at highway speeds

Hard to see in the picture, but there is an opening in the air dam with a panel below that I attached to the lower rad support, so it does channel the air into the lower part of the rad behind the bumper. "DART67" has a post when he did it to his BB 67 Convertible.

    Hot at highway speeds

My 67 Dart used to run hotter above 70mph, moded a early Dakota air dam to the lower bumper with the opening in the Dakota air dam help forcing air into the lower part of the rad, no more issues at speed.
