Bolt holes are a tad narrower on the 7 1/4 I believe. I think guys have drilled the holes out a little bigger though and used them on the 8 3/4.

Check for the roll pin again, it's hollow on the inside. Best bet is to use a punch to drive it out with.

I put a 71 dart floor shift in my 74 dart and it worked okay.

6 inch bolt and 1" 1/2 spacer on mine. Stock 74 dart sway bar.

I'd check out the tie rod ends, there pretty easy to replace and not to costly.

Sounds like a repackaged strut someone returned, I hope they do the right thing and send you a new one.

I have a picture of two side by side the 72 is on the top and the 74 is on the bottom.

I used the same one on my dart going from power to manual steering and used the same tie rod ends. I'm not sure about the 69 tie rod ends working on a 74 center link though. You could look at summits web site and see if they take the same part number.

When we did my son-in-laws we loosened the nut then while he was moving the steering wheel back and forth I tightend down the screw some. I tightend the nut back down and we went for a short ride to see if there was any improvment.

Like mtandrews said, I used a impact gun to get mine off.

Disconect it from the tie rod and the pitman arm with a pickle fork. At least that was how I did it.

Look at the adjustment bolts and see if the alignment shop loosened them up to much. When I got my dart done they where so loose I smashed my headers on the first bump I hit in the road.

Looks good, that's something I want to do to my dart some day. If I ever get done wet sanding!

Power steering shaft isn't long enough, but you can buy an adapter to make up the difference.

Thats a good deal Badart, I just re bushed my front end and rear leaf springs with that kit. everything fit great.

Man wish we where closer I have a 74 dart I'm converting from power steering to manual. we could swap columns.
