Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

No to your impression - they put 360's in everything starting in 1971 C-body's liked them and yes A bodies do have a different pan for that center steering link.

Center drag link, are they really $600? 1964 dart

The correct oil pan should be the first - they did make a 360 pan for the A body and yes a little rare but they are around - correct early V/8 mounts and shouldn't have an issue with the stock 64-66 linc.....BUT if your up grading brakes you'll need all that steering from outter tie rod to...

    273 Commando - UTG

My 1st 1965 Formula S I looked at in 1974 and eventually bought about 1976 had a 4sp and 8 3/4 - I still have the fender tag along with a lot of the parts from it - it had the side swiped as it sat out on the street. My current 1965 S 4 sp is a Feb build with a 7 1/4 posi. Parted a 1966 auto S...

    Room for a Clutch-Fan in a '65?

Yep seemed to have that set up in a early Cuda....a 1964 with factory A/C that a clutch fan that was put on there at some point trying to keep it cool. Re-did the heads for the guy to unleaded style and that worked pretty good....stop and go traffic getting into the upper 90's was still tuff.

    '65 Mustang Hi-po vs '65 Formula S

My first Cuda was just a 273 with a 2bl in 1975 but I snuck up on my buddy with the same 289/2bl in his Mustang and before he knew it was me - we were dragging down Westmoreland here in Big D by the old Gibson's......I pulled him by half a fender ! Owned and drove a 1965 2+2 and would pick a A -...

The sellability of our early “A” body cars

Funny.....I've owned them all Early A, B's and C's and although I'd get some thumbs up for my C bodies.....not going to count the B's....it's my early A bodies I like and get the most thumbs ups....they are that rare compared to the others. Oh...and I've owned a nice orginal 1965 2+2 basic...

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

Think it might come down to insurance - pretty sure they were wise by 1965.......

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

Yep....also if you guys see a 65/66 fold down back panel - like this - it also was cut out like the carbon spare tire cover for the 14 wheel. Just a note - the photo is up side down - and just throwing some stuff out there as if you find a car that perhaps is stripped of some of the parts - or...

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

Not that it matters so much - not any one would notice. The 65 emblem ending number is 42 - this was off my first S car that was parted out in 1975.

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

Oh...on that 1965 Form S emblem - the pins are horizontal - and the rest - 1966 up are vertical - of course the 1969 trunk emblem is by itself.

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

See you still have the correct spare tire cover - it had the half C cut out for the larger wheel.....kinda hard to find those. Really nice car there !

What’s the exact process to identify a real 66 Formula S Barracuda?

For all 273 Commando/Charger equipped cars - I always like to just look a the left rear valance for the big cut out. Even looked inside to see if it's been changed/repaired. Will look at 65 and 66 S fender tags later. My Feb built 4sp S car came with the 7 1/4 posi. The first 65 4sp had an 8...

    1965 Formula S specs - mine

Maybe I could find the fender tag from my first S car a 1965 4 sp that did have the 8 3/4 but an open rear. It was not a stock car as it already had fender well headers I still have for some reason. That was about 1977 and still have most parts from it as it was parted out due to the hit and run...

Well here goes some info - my S car is a 4 speed silver with red inside and maybe a dealer installed red stripe down it. It has the standard Valiant red steering wheel instead of the wooden one found on most Cuda's. It also has a dash pad and I think it had the add on A/C unit hanging down...
