Wondering if anyone has purchased these wheels

Thanks everyone for your input. Its interesting about the issues with the dog dishes how some have not had any problems, but others have.. Like said, as long as I check fitment prior to painting and weld/grind as necessary it should not be a problem.

Wondering if anyone has purchased these wheels

Those look great. Thanks for the info. Im going with a bit bigger tire, 255/60/15 and wheel 15x7. I think the 4.5" BS will be a good fit..

Wondering if anyone has purchased these wheels

Yep, that confirms the reviews as well. Also about painting them.. Did you sandblast them or something else prior to painting?

Wondering if anyone has purchased these wheels

Been looking at picking up a set of these wheels. The reviews on Summit say that the Dog Dish caps have a fitment problem. I would like to know if anyone has any personal experience with them. 63 series OE Chrysler Black Steel Wheels | Wheel Vintiques® Wheel Vintiques 63 Series O.E. Chrysler...

    Nitrogen vs. Oxygen

I got new winter tires for my 300 about 5 years ago. Of course I was not asked if I wanted the Nitrogen, they automatically just put it in. I do have to say that the 3 years I ran them, then gave them to my brother (I sold the car) and he ran them for at least 3 more years. Neither one of us...

so what is the best balancing method

I agree, with Johnny, a regular spin balancer will do just fine for your situation. Yes Im sure the road force balancers get it almost perfect, but your not in that super critical area such as going 140mph plus, to need it that perfect. Discount Tire, Tires Plus, Walmart, anyone that sells and...

Thanks for those tips.. Sadly its to late for me.. Now its time to figure out how to fix it..

    Would or Wouldnt cut

Well I ended up cutting slits in the lip and using a hammer and pounding them in, holding as hard as I could against the outside. The sucky part is it also pushed the metal out and caused some dimpling. I highly advise against doing it this way. Im hoping that maybe wheel well trim will cover...

    Would or Wouldnt cut

Well tried the bat trick and warmed it with the heat gun. Like mentioned almost to hot to touch. I was rolling back and forth and spent around 30 minutes working the top section. I was able to roll about 10" of the upper lip, sadly though it dimpled the outer fender and Im not sure why. Its not...

I've checked out a few videos of rolling them. Im going to try the baseball bat trick on mine. Thanks everyone for the input, I'll let you know how it turns out.

I like the idea of rolling that lip up instead.. Much smoother and more finished look IMO. Thanks for the tip on that.

    Would or Wouldnt cut

Well I have a set of 15x8's already mounted on some rims, with stock back spacing. It doesnt appear that I have much room to move the tire towards the spring. When I had them mounted on the rear to see how they fit. The lip (the one I want to cut) was just contacting the tire.

    Would or Wouldnt cut

I would like to be able to fit 15x8 drag radials in my rear wheel well of 71 Scamp. The 1/2" lip on the inside of the wheel well that the chrome trim would screwed to is in the way. I dont have the chrome trim on my car, so this lip is not needed, but wondering about the strength if I remove...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

LMAO! That will be one damn good looking kid! I myself have not looked into any tires recently. I've had to many other irons in the fire, but thank you for the heads up on that size. I'll check it out and compare a few things. Thanks

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Man those look good on the car. I priced everything out to do this wheels, tires, spring relocation kit. It ended up not being in my budget so I have to stick with what I have right now. It is a tight fit for sure, but like you said if you roll that inner lip you may be good to go. Thank you for...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Thank you for the lead on the wheels and your experience with those tires. Did you use the offset hangers, minitub or anything like that to get them to fit? If they are on your car in your signature they look good!

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Thank you for those pics! It is a tight fit, but Im thinking that I may go ahead with the offset spring hangers. I also see that those tires minimum with of the rim should be 7.5", which means I would have to try to find some rims that are 15 x 8's that accept the dog dish hub caps. Not sure...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Im running 3:73, trying to get my RPMs down do help with the gas milage. Hence why Im looking to go to a taller tire. My car only comes out on weekends, and its a mix of city and hwy.

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

I havent picked up a set of tires yet, but like you stated it is awfully close to the rocker in front of the rear wheel. I spent some time measuring and after all of that, I think Im going to go with the offset spring hangers to get a little wider tire and probably go with that size and brand...

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Just threw that size into the calculator and its showing 28" tall and 10" wide. I dont have the offset hangers so I would have to stick with the narrower tire.

Tallest tire fitment on rear of Scamp

Hi guys, Im trying to figure out my RPM, gas mileage issues and some of the suggestions where to run a taller tire. What is the tallest tire that will fit on the rear of a 71 Scamp? Can we squeeze a 28", 29" etc.... in the opening? I believe 9.25" wide is the widest that will fit, but I would...

    14" Wheel

Hi guys, Im needing a spare for my car and I want to make sure that I can run a 14" wheel in place of my 15" as a spare, with LBP disc. I dont want to get the wheel if the caliper is going to hit the rim. Of course I would make sure the tire height is the same, so I dont have any issues with the...
