    holley off idle bog

holley 780 on a 440 h.p. engine idles great, runs fine at cruise but has a horrible bog/flat spot just off idle. i have tried adjusting the idle mixture, advancing/retarding the timing and opening the secondaries a tad bit. nothing helps. this is on a new rebuild kit. any ideas?

    brand new gas tank

ill probably hear a bunch of crap for this but... id rinse the inside with a little gas, drain it out then do it a couple more times. also outside away from anything that might blow you up. maybe kerosene or something that wont hurt the fuel system or motor if you dont get it all out.

Continuing the Fuel Sending Unit discussion

most of the time on a mopar, the ground strap from the fueltank sending unit to the fuel line isnt working, or is missing. tray a jumperwire from a CLEAN BARE METAL spot on the frame to a clean bare spot on the fuel line at the tank. the gage should work. if not, unhook the sending unit wire at...

Can copper be used for fuel line?

it was FREE. thats the only reason. we throw away partial rolls everyday. it comes in 50' rolls and usually use 25-35' out of that. thet rest gets dumped.

Can copper be used for fuel line?

okay, im throwing in my 2cents worth. i install heating and a/c systems for a living. the newer systems use 410a freon which runds about 300-400psi when the system is running. the refer lines are soft copper. the equipment also shakes-vibrates a bit while running. ive seen very few that leak...

    Fuel Gauge and Sending Unit

should be just one wire from the sending unit to the gauge. try grounding that wire and the gauge should read full. dont ground it for more than a few seconds or you will burn up the gage. check to make sure the ground strap fron the sending unit to the frame is good or the gage wont work. hope...

    Power Valve Saver

a backfire will blow the powervalve most of the time. it ruptures the rubber diapragm and allows fuel to pour in right out of the bowl. my experiance has been that the motor wont idle because its flooding but will keep running if you open up the throttle to let more air in. i havent seen the pv...
