Rear disk for 8.75 with SBP?

Another thing to consider is you may not be able to use the stock smaller wheels with the larger disks anyway. Plus I believe the Disk set up make the fender make clearance an issue as it adds to your overall width.

    8 3/4 SBP disc

Also remember that rear disks will add 1/2 to 1" to the width of your rear end and you will probably need longer studs.

    8 3/4 SBP disc

Dr.Diff will modify his to be small pattern for a price, there are others, but most of them require 15 inch rims.

    Testing a Proportioning Valve?

I am afraid that riding the brakes is just causing the rear drums to fade enough that they do not lock up anymore. this cannot be good for them I think we just need to add or adjust the rear proportioning valve. something like this Classic Performance Brake Proportioning Valves PV-2 or...

    Testing a Proportioning Valve?

Mine are doing the same thing, and the rear locks up way too early. I suspect that whoever upgraded my 64 dart to duel master with disks in the front, did something wrong. I am considering adding a proportioning valve for the rears. Right now I don't have to step on the brakes very hard before...

    Brake shoe size

I hope I am not high-jacking this thread, but I pulled a drum off of the back of my 64 dart, 8 3/4 10" x ?, because it locks up when I step on the brakes, and noticed that there is a good 1/4 inch of more of unused drum on one side of the shoe. The shoe measures less than 2", so I am assuming...

    RF brake locked up. Why?

Check the return holes in the bottom of your Master cylinder. I have had debree / rust plug up those holes and cause the same situation.

    8 3/4 rear disk brakes...Post 'em up!

On a related note, has anyone noted the scarcity of 14" tires. I want to go with rear disk and small pattern, but My choices are slim. I think Cass has the only solution that I know of.

    Disc brake conversion

I am looking for a small pattern solution rear wheel solution that will allow me to keep my 14" Rallys. There does not seem to be a solution out there that does both, so I think the easiest solution is to drill a 5/4.5 for 5/4. What I have : 64 Dart 8 3/4 with green bearings. stock...

Drivers side rear locks up really easily when I hit the brakes.

For all intensive purposes I have a brake system out of a 71-73 Dart, even though it is a 64. Small pattern rims, dual master, single piston caliper disks in front, 10" drums rear. everything replaced new about 500 miles ago. Except rear drums, and proportioning valve. Was working beautifully...

Any chance a 14" ralley will fit over that, I see in most kits they require a 15" wheel minimum?

    Brake pedal wont come up

I had a similar thing happen when a small amount of crud got into the return hole at the bottom of the master cylinder. Other than that the pistons could be in wrong ?

confused.. yes i say that a lot

I didn't think they use 9" brakes on a v8 car. and especially not a 340 car. but maybe they did on the newer cars. It sounds like you have the wrong drums on your car, a new set shouldn't cost you more than $50. But make sure you have the tire clearance before taking off the spacers...

    Brake drum problem

I tried removing one once I ended up with a bent hub. I believe that there is a special drill bit needed to remove the base of the studs in order to get the old drum off.

Pull to the left when braking

whatever you do get this fixed. If you don't think this is important try stopping hard on a wet road, but make sure there is nothing around when you do it, because you could loose control of your car and end up out of your lane or worse.
