    Is it a low band apply?? Sounds like the low band is too slow releasing or the intermediate band apply too fast.Start by checking both band adjustments.How many spring in the rear servo 1 or 2? Cope Racing has a servo kit to help with this overlap...

    If you have 1,2 and reverse it a valve body or governor problem .I would start with the governor make sure it not sticking and the sealing ring are not worn or damaged .

    That look like 917-2 the missing piece that goes between the lever and the band.It possible it was loose and popped out. Drop the valve body and see if the band is broken.If nothing is broken but it back together adjust both bands.

    the shuttle valve controls kickdown shift feel by restricting how fast the fluid is released from the front clutchpack and the outside of the front servo.

    The accumulator spring does not effect when the shift takes place, it cushions the shift so removing the spring will make the shift firm, putting a blocker rod if so the piston can't move will make it more so.

    Sound like you have damaged the t/v linkage ( bent or sticking)so the trans thinks the throttle is open more than it really is. This will cause late hard shifts.Check that it moves freely and readjust.

    To shift into 4Low you need to be going about 3mph. Drop you automatic into neutral and then in one quick movement, shove the shifter forward into 4Low.

    It's the pivot pin for the low/ reverse band. You will need to remove it and replace the "O" ring. Check the shaft and case for wear and damage.

    Hold on to your money untill you find a set of something in the 3s . It will turn up. A set of 3.55 would be real good all around gear. Don't be in a rush or you will be disappointed.
